Went to AutoZone. The laminated card from Peak said to use orange for 2013+ Chrysler, this thread page two says purple, the coolant in the reservoir looks pink (the one by the BMS). I bought the orange Peak but second guessing. It's not that low just need to top off, should I take back the orange for something else?
orange is wrong.

I wanted to try and educate myself prior to under taking any maintenance on my cooling systems, I have an eTorque model. I still have sometime before needing to service it but in case of a failure wanted to be prepared for what to do. The primary gist in this tread evolved around what is the proper coolant for the cooling system along with the requirements for the MGU and the battery pack. If I am correct the same coolant is use in all three systems. If I am wrong I’m sure that will be corrected in short order. What I wanted to contribute is something I found that Mopar (Stellantis, hate to use that moniker) publishes. It is VEHICLE LUBRICANT & CHEMICAL CATALOG. I am posting the 2023 VEHICLE LUBRICANT & CHEMICAL CATALOG version. I hope other Wrangler enthusiast find it of interest.

The color of the anitfreezw in my MGU and battery reservoirs is pink and the radiator looks pinkish as well . I believe I have the right antifreeze Mopar 68163848AC which should be diluted with distilled water to 50/50.

According to information on Mopar:

Mopar 68163848AC is a genuine 1-gallon bottle of red/pink Organic Acid Technology (OAT) coolant concentrate, designed for 2012–2024 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Fiat vehicles. This MS-9769 standard antifreeze provides 10-year/150,000-mile protection, typically requiring a 50/50 mix with distilled water. It replaces older part numbers 68163848AA, 68163848AB, and 68104496AA.
Key Details and Compatibility
  • Formula: Concentrate (requires dilution).
  • Color: Red/Pink.
  • Key Engines: 1.4L MultiAir, 2.0L Turbo, 3.0L EcoDiesel, 3.6L V6, and 6.4L Hemi.
    • Hazmat: Contains hazardous materials; often requires ground shipping.
    • Common Applications: Ram ProMaster, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango, Fiat 500, and Dodge Hornet.

It is highly recommended to check your owner's manual for the required coolant type to confirm compatibility.

Looks like they are interchangable OAT varieties.

Takeaways for MS-12106 vs. MS-90032:
  • Compatibility: Both are Violet/Purple OAT coolant meeting 10-year/150,000-mile requirements.
  • Interchangeable: Dealers and documentation confirm that MS-12106 replaced or is used interchangeably with MS-90032.
  • Color Note:
They are designed to mix, despite any slight color variations (some may appear more pinkish-orange in the engine, but are actually purple OAT).
    • Application: Used in 2013+ RAM, Jeep, and other FCA vehicles.
    • Do Not Mix With: Older HOAT (Hybrid Organic Acid Technology) coolants (e.g., pre-2013 coolant), as this can cause gelling.

Industry push for color of coolant as identifier is on the list of dumbest things done, and this thread has some reflection of that.

Find out what spec/ formula is needed for your application, and purchase coolant that meets application. Enough of this rainbow guessing nonsense.

I agree but don't forget there is OAT coolants out there that don't meet the specks

Mixing the wrong coolants in your engine will cause so much problems that I always use the manufacture's brand. It doesn't cost that much more and I know that it is safe to use.
