Drove across the mountain passes in Washington this past weekend for the first time in my JLR. Stopped to get gas near the pass in freezing weather (due to the stupid small gas tank in the 2dr).

Both times climbing back in my seat, to my surprise the seat and steering wheel were already heated. Automatically! I had no switches on. Love that! First time experience. Even my fancy albeit old BMW 7 series was not automatic.

Cold weather package is a life saver, especially when you remote start and by the time you get in everything is warm. People in California say they don't need it, well they obviously don't go up to the snow! :giggle:

PS - there’s something very satisfying about holding that heated leather-wrapped steering wheel...

Exactly... and that I didn't have to turn it on. It was waiting for me!!!

Glad my wife isn't looking over my shoulder, she is already questioning how I am divvying up my time between my day job, her, online here, and modding my jeep!

She's not looking... I LOVE MY JEEP! :giggle:

Only the driver’s seat come on automatically, now my wife wants to drive all the time. It is good that the seats heat up quickly.

They do indeed heat up quickly compared to my Bimmer and my F-150!

Had a JL rental a few years ago that had a scorcher of a steering wheel. Within maybe a minute or two, it was simply too hot to touch. My new '23 gets lukewarm at best (unless it's smart and varies intensity by inside/outside temp or something).

Was kinda hoping for something in between red-hot frying pan and a cup of coffee that's been sitting out for 2 hours.

Funny you mention that. My 2018 was very hot, and I loved it. My 2022 is lukewarm. I think they changed the output because people were complaining about the intensity.

Disappointed here, cause I loved it hot.

The cold weather package was a must for me for this reason. Ok those frigid winter days when it's into the negatives and I've got to clear snow and ice, it's nice climbing into a warm seat and putting my hands on a warm steering wheel.

Yeah, 100% I'd rather have it too hot than not warm enough. It's easy enough to turn the button on or off occasionally (sorta) to make it more comfortable, but you just can't make a lukewarm steering wheel any warmer.

Now I wish I hadn't kinda-sorta bitched about the hot wheel here, like once, 2 years ago ⛄

The bulk of my minor complaints about my JL so far are mostly behavioral/user-interface issues and could easily be solved or tweaked via software updates, but I'm really not sure if that's something they'd bother addressing in that manner.

Careful. I've caught myself several times feeling up my heated steering wheel, moving my hands to new warm spots. Try explaining that if she notices.

Yes, the steering wheel on my 2018 gets VERY hot. Thankfully, that’s how I like it!
