Here we are 2 years later. Took it in a few weeks ago they did leak down test and software update. Didn't fix it so they said it's bad gas. Well I went to a different station and got 91 and it's till doing it. Taking it in today gonna get jeep cares involved.

Just spitballiing here. DI motors have an intake flap. This is just a choke to allow the engine to start cold and for emissions. If you hear most cold start DI motors, they sound a bit louder for a bit and then quiet down. When they get a bit quieter, that's when the flap is open. If the flap stays open then the engine will run in an over lean condition, thus what you are getting are misfires. The dealer could actually read the misfire count upon a cold startup.

This was a super common problem when VW made the E888 engine in the beginning. Such a big problem that they recalled them because of the flap failure. For those, they were hard to start cold and misfired. After about a minute or two, they ran perfectly fine.

I don't know if that's what is wrong with yours but it sure seems like it could be. Software update could be to increase the amount of misfires before it turns on the light and to force the engine to run richer (which it's running in open loop at that time).
