Anyone else bothered by the fact that the clock moves from the top to the left side when in CarPlay? I have had my JL for a few weeks now and I still catch myself hunting for the clock - I seem to look to the left when in uconnect and up top when in carplay every single time. What I ended up doing a few days ago was put the clock in the upper left of the LCD behind the steering wheel and will try to train myself to look there always. I have it Left:clock - center:Compass - right:temp. With so many other redundant ways to do things I wish I could tell it to keep a clock up top even when in CarPlay.

The fact that this is the only issue I have with the Jeep speaks volumes. I had an 02 TJ and a 15 JK and love my new JL. Still a Jeep and finally has some tech.

Nothing to do with Jeep or UConnect - this is how CarPlay works in any vehicle. It's solely under Apple's control. (In my GMC, I'm more annoyed that I lose outside temperature than the clock moving.)

I dont think so. The top portion of the uconnect is uconnect - same with the bottom. They give CarPlay the middle window. Has nothing to do with Apple. That is where your climate control temps stay at all times and ext temperature. No reason the clock can’t stay. Uconnect obviously made the choice that since Apple is showing the clock to left on CarPlay they would remove it from their spot, which I find annoying. I would rather have it stay there even though Apple shows it to the left.

I am not familiar with your GMC but perhaps they give Apple the entire screen. Uconnect does not.

Oh, OK. I don't have my Wrangler, yet (KZ, though!)... but, yes, in my GMC CarPlay takes up the whole screen. Apple does display a clock on the left, though, and you can't hide or move it. Maybe Jeep though 2 clocks would look weird?

Nice, hope you get it soon! Yeah. Has to be what they figured. It does sound odd but annoys me. I think I found a solution though by adding it to the LCD behind the steering g wheel.

Apple CarPlay overrides the vehicle clock display and shows the time on your phone. This is in fact an Apple CarPlay feature.

7" and 8.4" UConnect will display Apple CarPlay / Android Auto differently due to the aspect ratio difference in the two screens. I have the 7" screen and I deal with the clock thing by putting the clock in the center display and looking there all the time.

On the 7" display, CarPlay/Auto looks like it is in a window on the screen. The bottom is still the UConnect icons but the top display items go away and there are black bars on both sides due to the wide screen format of the 7" display.

The 8.4" display is a lot taller but not really much wider, this allows the UConnect icons along the bottom and the top of the display to stay in place when using CarPlay/Auto.

This is correct, but you will notice that even in the 8.4 inch display the clock which is usually centered on the top row is missing. It does this in Android Auto as well...minor but very frustrating for the passenger.
