Jeep Wrangler JL Charging Port Door "E" Badge charging port door

I ordered a "4xe" badge and want to use just the "e" affixed to the charging port indentation as it's a perfect size match. The badge letters have thin black adhesive foam on the backside however it won't stay affixed to the charging port door. For prep, I cleaned the plastic with isopropyl alcohol and even used clamps to hold it in place for a few hours. No luck. Later, I tried a similar process using glue but that didn't work either.

I saw another forum member do this but I can't remember who it was. Has anyone here done this? If so, how did you affix the "e" securely?

Thanks!

Trade that foam out for heavy duty 3m adhesive or paint the E with color matched paint and clear coat. You may also need to use an adhesive promoter.

I did do it and it fits like it was made for it. It comes with it’s own adhesive tape but I’ve read that it tends to break down against the plastic, over time. I prepped it with alcohol like you did and I added a couple of drops of gorilla glue and stuck it on with the tape. It’s perfectly secure so far! I’m not sure why yours came off so easily but maybe your adhesive tape is bad?

I ordered one and it will not fit properly. I’ve tried gorilla glue with no luck.

Telling myself I don’t want this mod but…

Try roughing the surface with sand paper and use a 2-part epoxy?
