"Automatic" Charging port cover

Found these on Etsy and ordered 2 for our Jeeps. Shipping was stupid fast (and free!) and the install was a piece of cake. I had already removed the covers because I got tired of messing with them but was always slightly nervous about dirt/dust/water building up in the port and causing problems. For $20 (or less if you order multiple) it's definitely worth the peace of mind to me!

Haha, no such luck unfortunately... I've definitely been there, done that though! I did find that once I took the tethered cover off I greatly reduced that happening, as I generally close the door as soon as I unplug the charger now, before turning around to hang it on the wall.

It's so much easier when I have the doors off to do that where i'm floundering around like an idiot when the doors are on!

Unless something has changed in the last day or so they actually locked his account due to non-vendor status and he hasn't had any luck getting it reactivated. I had been talking with him months ago about making a couple for me when he first designed it for himself but he was still tweaking his print settings and everything and wasn't ready to send any out in the wild. I was glad to see he finally got it all up and running and he seems like a great guy!

This is awesome!!! My wife unplugs the 4xe charge cord and lets the rubber cap just hang outside charge port, then closes the charge port door halfway and drives off ? this will be a much needed upgrade!

Yeah me too! so when I forget to close the door, at least nothing will be dangling from it!
