I live in the Northwest where it rains 8 months of the year and I live on a gravel road and it's going to get dirty...a lot. So is it worth it?

I think it is but I am not paying to get it done. A good compromise seems (YMMV) to be Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax. Follow instructions. Don’t use too much or you will be working against the product.

Your paint must be in good condition, the Ceramic Wax is not a substitute for paint correction of your choice. I am using a clay mitt but thats all.

Yes, it's very much worth it. It makes clean up much easier and provides better protection than wax. it will last longer as well.

I detail full time. Slapshot is right. A true ceramic has tons of benefits over a spray like Florida man uses. Paying to have it done professionally, has benefits as well

A $12 bottle of Seal and Shine or a $20 bottle of Griots Ceramic Spray will both last for years. Even if you use them liberally every other month. They aren't hard to apply, both last for a few months even under bad conditions and give a great shine. Of course, a real Ceramic Coating is better strictly compared to a Spray Ceramic/Wax or Sealant. But in terms of value, $500-$600 for a 2 year coating is not valuable. Neither is $1000+ for a 5 year coating. The detailing products are too inexpensive and easy to use to justify paying for a Ceramic Coating, in my opinion. A Ceramic Coating will do nothing to prevent scratching either.
