I am looking to get a CB Radio for my 2024 Wrangler Sport. Is there a way to integrate it into the infotainment/CarPlay system? If so, what systems are best?

I haven't seen one, but are you positive you want a (relatively ancient) CB over something like GMRS?

Unless, of course, the people you wheel with use CBs. That's extremely rare around here.

CB has become just about useless for offroading. Most everything is GMRS now. I don't think even truckers use CB that much anymore

There is no CB that integrates with the infotainment system. For that matter, no GMRS or ham radio does either.

No. The closest you’ll get is a unit where all the controls are in the handset and the box can be tucked out of site.
My set up is a Cobra WX-ST75 CB for Easter Jeep Safari and the odd occasion someone on a local trail is using CB. Midland MXT-275 GMRS for general trail use.

Is there such thing as a CB, UHF, and maybe GMRS combo unit? Preferably one that can be a hidden setup with just the mic with controls?

If not, just a straight up handheld unit?

(sorry, I have a CB on my TJ and use it mostly in traffic jams but my buddy has 2 UHF handhelds, just not very knowledgeable in the subject)

Short answer, no, not out of the box.
For a radio to comply with FCC regulations for GMRS it can't be able to transmit on any other band. Likewise CB. (GMRS is, by the way, UHF).

That isn't to say it can't be done - just that you can't go buy one.

Do you know of any small independent radio shops ? What you want isn’t FCC approved. Neither was my 1KW amp or 800 channel radio years ago. Pirate equipment is perhaps still out there, but under the counter and they need to trust you or it isn’t available. They are getting rare my friend closed his many years ago, but another small one recently closed the owner was old. It just costs time to check.

Just add to this plenty of truckers have CB they just don't turn them on because there's no point. The only time I get to use mine is in the odd time that I need it at a location to talk to a scale house or something at a customer's location. When you go into rock quarries and coal mines you have to have one though but just out on the road no. They can be helpful from time to time but I normally keep mine turned off.

I wouldn't even think about putting a CB in a jeep anymore just get a gmrs and be done with it.

If you are still looking for a CB with mic control the Uniden CMX 760 might be the radio you are looking for

If your dash has an 1/8" input jack you can run the sound to your system and hear it thru your speakers. I don't know of any mobile that doesn't have 1/8" output on the back.

A TYT 9800D or Yeasu 8900 can receive all the bands mentioned above and more, but antennas must be specifically tuned to transmit efficiently on each band. so, it takes a special antenna like a Comet UHV4. It's almost 5 feet tall and has multiple tunable elements. Both of these radios have detachable heads that can be mounted remotely and can be used with mic controls, but a radio with this many features will be complicated to control from the mic. You will want the control head where you can see it so you can tell what you have told the radio to do. This would not be a starter radio system.

You really have to know who you expect to talk with and under what conditions to decide what radio system to get. If you don't have a plan, the suggestions above to just get handhelds is probably best. A $50 handheld GMRS and $50 handheld CB would be where I would start.

That’s annoying. No, unfortunately I don’t. However I’d much rather it be legal for a handful of reasons. Regardless, you can use uhf/hrms without license correct? Don’t mind getting one but, easier not to.

Sorry - retired trucker hasn’t kept up and doesn’t know what’s available. I really never needed to my buddy with the shop was very good at his profession. He previously worked for Lockheed on spy and sub chaser planes. Even picked up a 5KW radio station pull out tube and built an amp for his base station.

Only CB and the very low power MURS and FRS can be used without a license. These transmit about as far as you can yell, but don't require the effort. GMRS uhf license is $35 for 10 years, just fill out and pay online. ham bands require a test
