Just received the carlinkit 5.0 2air and works great. My issue is once I turn off the jeep and lock it, it looks like my phone is constantly connecting to the carlinkit, turning on android auto. I currently have it plugged into the USB 2 (located inside the center arm console). Is this USB slot constantly on? I've read people leave it in there, no issues.

Read through this whole thread and you will understand why I say this..

To summarize @Rhinebeck01's response so you don't have to read through 33 pages of details: the USB will stay active for about an hour. If you're in range then your phone will annoyingly try to reconnect over that period.

AAWireless has the ability to stop that annoying reconnection and has lots of other features that makes it a significantly better choice than anything else that's currently on the market.

Though BLUF seems cool... I'd rather point you to .... and have you read read.. I believe that serves you better so to speak.. 8-)

Why, because if you don't read/learn the info in that thread.... even though the AAWireless is the way to go for the JL, you may very well have install/set-up issues..... that can taint the experience...

DO read through that whole thread mentioned in my last post ..... and then do the install..

Also, when you have time also read through this thread... No problem reading it after the install of your AAWireless dongle.

@Rssazn mentioned AAWireless 2023. Any idea if they update the hardware periodically like that name implies?

Main difference between the V1, the original Indiegogo AAWireless dongles and the V2 dongles AAWireless now sells from their website and on Amazon is the SoC (Rockchip RK3308 vs RV1109).

With that said, the AAWireless dongle for quite some time now, has had/uses the Rockchip RK3308 and I have read they will be using that for some time to come..

Trivia: The AAWireless dongle is "Designed and manufactured in the EU | Made by a small company of dedicated developers. "

The AAWireless dongle is firmware update-able. Units shipped from AAWireless and Amazon have the most current firmware loaded.
