Hello everyone,
Took my doors off and when I went to reattach the right, rear passenger ran into an issue with the hinge arm.

I started screwing in the long bolt when the door swung inwards a little. This put enough pressure on the tiny screw plate inside the B panel, which caused the screw plate to disattach itself inside the B panel.

Essentially, I cannot screw the bolt any further, nor remove it. The door opens and closes, but because it isn't fully fastened, the hinge arm pops. Also I'm stuck with a door I cannot remove anymore.

I tried metal adhesives but couldn't get them two to stick.

Has anyone ran into this problem? And what did you do about it?
Any recommendations?

If its under warrantee take it in.
I don't attach the arm all summer. I only put it on for the winter.

I don't think warranty will cover a problem the owner created. Unless the dealer is feeling generous.

So the screw is partially screwed into the receptacle, which has popped loose inside the panel?

I thought about that too, but was concerned about the arm scratching the paint on opening and closing the door.
Either way, I'm going to very careful with that bolt/arm from now on.

I always put a piece of Gorilla tape on the hinge base plate before removing my door and don't take ir off the door until I reinstall the door and am ready to bolt the hinge back down.

If you push the catch all the way into the door, it won't contact the pillar. At that point you're back to a more "traditional" jeep door. It's a pain to get it back out of there though if you change your mind.

Yeah, aware of that too, the online manual has the instructions for that process, try to avoid that too.
I’ve had the doors off a few times, have not had any issues. I keep the hinge bolts out so it’s a fast process.

the catch is easy to pull out. one of two ways you can put a screw driver in the hole and pry it out or i like to use a pair of needle nose vise grips to pull it out.

An easier way is to loop a shoe string through the hinge bolt hole and the metal tether bracket and open the door.

Thanks for all the replies so far.

Hopefully you can see the reception inside the panel that receives the bolt has come loose. I can't tighten or loosen the bolt anymore. So the door check arm is actually attached to the bolt still. Permanently, until I get this bolt free.
