Tailgate door check broken cannot shut the door?

My tail gate door check was stuck at opening position, can't shut the door without broken or bending something, so i have to take the door check off to close the door. Went home and cleans the roller and inside but still having problem. i don't really want to have the dealer taking apart the already pos and making tool marks and broken clips all over the interior. It's a jeep thing i guess.

It's a T40 star bit. you should have that tool pouch when you purchase your vehicle.
