I make a quart of 1 to 3 strength(condensed) cold brewed about once a week. Fill a 16 oz mug with 4 oz of it and the rest with clean water, heat the 16 oz.'s for a great cup and no cleanup. The quart travels well and when camping for less than a week I don't need coffee ground or whole beans, filters or a place to dump the daily grind and filter. I Frenched press coffee for awhile until I read about the fine sludge being bad for the stomach.
BTW, Cold brewed is not cold coffee once hot. It's brewed without heating the coffee grounds. Let the grounds soak in cold water for 12/24 hours in the rig. Filter out the grounds and heat filtered liquid. Make it 1/1 or like I do, so 1 qt. makes a gallon.
What exactly is your setup?
I tried making a large batch in a glass jug, and pouring/filtering through my coffeemaker basket/filter. It took a long time for coffee to get through filter and the grounds held a lot of the liquid. Only about half the amount of liquid made it through the process… was hoping for faster filtering, and more efficiency (more liquid at end of process).
Trying to squeeze the grounds didn’t work very well.

I've got to have my coffee in the morning!! I use a European Coffee pot, that I heat up on the red electric pan before I fry my eggs.

I use Starbucks instant coffee. Im a huge coffee nerd but really try my best to reduce cleanup/waste. Even with a French press you need to toss the ground beans somewhere..

So although I’m not a big fan of instant coffee.. it’s 100x easier than anything else.

Basic and simple and you can boil the water in it. I’ve used mine dozens of times and cleanup is simple.

Exactly what I use, over a hiker's jet boil and I have the palico rechargeable grinder. Makes 3-4 decent sized cups of coffee.
