And I stopped in the dealership again Friday and told them about the pushback I was getting from this forum! The general manager, the head of the parts department and their head Jeep technician ALL said that tires up to 35” would automatically recalibrate, just like the engine would recalibrate for different fuel octane levels or adjust the fuel/air ratio for different altitudes. Has anyone ever tested their phone GPS against a stock tire combo? Are the GPS systems on the phone really that accurate? Just asking!
Mine was right on before the tires with the phone app. Let’s hope they are correct. After a couple hundred miles it’s still the same. I’ll let you know if anything changes.

Yes, the GPS in a phone is accurate. No, mine has not corrected itself yet, nor do I believe it ever will. I'd like to ask that general manager exactly when mine will decide to do it. I'm closing in on 2,000 miles on the 35's.

Until mine magically does this, that'll all be just a bunch of talk from a salesman.

I’m just relaying what they are saying. This is a Jeep only dealership! They only sell Jeeps and the people that work there are all Jeep enthusiasts. This was more than just “talk from a salesman”!

Show us the money, then. Did your Jeep do this? Did they demonstrate? Or, did they just tell you they've done it? If they told you, then at this point, it is just talk.

2000 miles. Mine is still off by about 4mph on the highway. I could take you for a ride and show you.

Sorry, man, not trying to be a turd. I would just like to know how to get my Jeep to do this magic trick.

My dealer told me they can only change the computer to factory tire sizes and there will be no change to that. They have been unable to do so for JK's as it's EPA mandated that they not change it to any setting that they do not sell on the vehicle. As for it automatically calibrating, his response was, "how on earth would it detect what sized tire you were running?"

Bingo. The aftermarket will have the solution. We just have to wait. Whichever company releases it first gets my money.

There's another page to the tsb, it says AUTHENTIC. GENUINE. FACTORY-BACKED Attention: All CJDR Dealers, Business and Service Managers From: Mopar Vehicle Protection Team Mopar Custom Calibration for 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL B U L L E T I N : 2 0 1 8 -0 0 4 F e b r u a r y2 1 , 2 0 1 8 On January 11, 2018 Mopar Vehicle Protection (MVP) and Mopar Accessories launched the first phase of a Custom Calibration/ Vehicle Reconfiguration process. As part of phase 2 which launched on February 20, 2018, sales codes no longer need to be entered manually and are automatically added once the MVP contract has been enrolled into DealerConnect. The Mopar Custom Calibration is recommended on 2018 Jeep Wranglers (JL) that have been customized with oversized tires (33”+), have a modified axle ratio or transfer case ratio. Customized Jeep Wranglers with these modifications musthave their odometers and speedometers calibrated to be compliant with NHTSA odometer reading standards and for both to have accurate readings. The software update for the calibration will be charged to the customer via a Mopar Vehicle Protection service contract. When a customer customizes their Jeep Wrangler (JL) with any of the above modifications or comes in to service a non-calibrated vehicle, the following process should be followed. ....

• During the sales process, acknowledge the disclaimer pop up on VINDriven or
wiADVISOR and read to customer.
• Whether a customer needs 1 or 3 different option codes there will only be one
charge within 30 days of purchase of an MVP Calibration Contract MSRP is $125

I bought my JLUR last night and part of the wait was them programing for the 35's we put on it.

They said they had to get a Jeep Service order to get the codes and it was done.

I will check it with my GPS tomorrow and let you know.
