Nobody cares

If you don't like CA then move to a different state
There are those of us that live in California, hate the politics, but for some reason or another can't move.

šŸ˜‚ Time efficient as well. Only took me 11 months to get my vanity plate.
Bragging or complaining ? Didn’t ya read the time frame when ordering ? New registration within I think 90 days plates within ? , but it wasn’t within a year. I called after ~ 6 months having not received the new registration and was told it would be with the plates that didn’t show up until after the 23 tags were paid for. Fortunately another tag came with them.
3 months ? could it be

You bought a new gas powered Jeep from a California dealer as a brand new vehicle and you are the original and only owner ?

If a smog check is the worst of your concerns I'd say you're doing pretty well dude. Well... no you have chemo. Dang! Sorry to hear about that! I sincerely wish you the best of health going forward!

Edit: Also you're probably getting a lot of confused replies because the thread is posted in the 3.6 pentastar forum but you have a diesel.

I would love to live in California, if it weren't for Los Angeles, San Francisco, the Politicians, the Stupid Laws, the Homeless, the Taxes, the Lack of Water, the Lane Splitting Motorcycles, the Traffic, the A-Hole Drivers, and a lot of the Brain Washed Special People living there.
I'm sure I could find more reasons.

Yep you missed one. Soon they will be taxing you just to drive, period.

The irony of those complaints coming from Houston is hilarious.

Isn't it though. I've been to California too many times. My wife and her side of the family are from Valencia CA. I've lived and worked in Houston, and surrounding area for 32 years. Houston sucks, in all kinds of ways, but, at least it is in Texas.

I love tuning vehicles. Unfortunately, California is really tuner-unfriendly. Of course the intent is to reduce smog, but the bureaucracy has made it all about CARB compliance rather than what's actually coming out of your tailpipe.

From a technical standpoint, diesels are so easy to tune. Much less sensitive to air/fuel ratio (just dump a bunch of fuel, whatever is extra comes out as black smoke). Things like EGR and DPF rob an incredible amount of power so I don't argue having to test diesels more often (because of cheaters). But - I'm not sure why they don't just stick a sniffer on the tailpipe and as long as you're under a threshold, you're good. Instead, it's OBDII scan, visible smoke test, and visual. I've had inspectors complain about an intake because it didn't have a CARB sticker. Stupid.

Anyway, enough ranting. Don't like the auto laws, taxes, etc. etc. but the weather and natural resources here are incredible. Also, since this is where I make my living I make the best of it :).

PS: Don't do the Montana LLC thing. Police know to look out for that and it'll cost you lots.

I have a 2000 ws6, it had emission issues because the sticker was faded, no joke 4 different shops same story. I'm honestly fine with the testings and laws, if they made sense, I won't go into cali laws but they contradict themselves alot. me and the wife are just trying to save enough money to move me and the 3 kids oh and her to a nicer kid friendly state or atleast out of the area we live in now.

Wife and I are retired and I wanted to leave. But, my wife wants to stay. We can afford to live here very comfortably, even with taxes eating our savings like a drunken Labrador in a dog food factory. That may change, but I doubt it. I like the outdoor weather here and I have friends here. Don't know anyone in TX to wheel with, cept you.

Where I live is a Suburb of Houston. About 25 miles from the real Houston. But, the crime comes up to our little bubble of nice people. I plan on retiring in 3 years and building a house on some property I bought years ago, in Hot Springs Arkansas. Plenty of places to Wheel there. Beautiful outdoors .

Sorry about the chemo OP! On the bright side you scored a diesel wrangler. That’s the one to have imo.
