Cali Smog notice

My point is that the reason you have to smog your Jeep after 2 years old and not the surban after 2 years old is because your Jeep is a diesel and your suburban probably isn't.

So got the jeep brand new in 22, got a smog notice from cali. so 2 years after I bought it, which is funny because I bought my wifes suburban in 2020 and still has yet to need smog. i hate this state so much, that is all

It's because you have a Diesel and a result of the coal-rolling assholes combined with all of the VW/FCA/Etc of the world cheating make it so Diesel owners get fucked.

There are bunch of people in the motorhome community who do all sorts of things to avoid sales tax or pay low registration like that. And they do get pursued. Wouldn't recommend doing that.

It's not being part of the problem if it's legal. The people that put all the regulations in place, put loopholes in for themselves. Use them.

Let me know how that goes... pretty sure the dealership just flat forgot about my recall. If you think your smog issues are bad, I purchased my 22 Eco from out of state, so when I got here it had to be weighed, inspected, and smogged with 442 miles on the odometer. Just smogged my wife's JLU yesterday with 1641 miles on it. Cali sucks.

Police will pull you over if your stickers aren't up to date, and they will impound your vehicle on the spot. Even if your paperwork shows that your registration is paid and up to date. I know this from firsthand experience.

Ouch. I wasn't suggesting you break the law, just wondering what happens to people that do.

Every once in awhile, I get pissed at the senseless bureaucracy and wonder what happens if I stop paying.
