The build list I got from Moab industries. I reached out to them with the VIN number to see if that was something they could give me and he did. I still think I’m gonna try and find one stock and build it myself. The idea of buying one already built sounds nice, but there’s just too many variables.

Thanks. It’s hard not to fall into temptation when you see a sick ride. Even with quality parts I still wonder how hard it was driven, what was neglected or what issues does it have they didn’t want to repair before dumping it. But I can still have that argument on a stock jeep. Part of me feels if they were into modding with good parts maybe they maintained it well also. But when it’s stock there’s no clue a to how much they cared about it. I feel like either way is a gamble.
Just do an underbody inspection. That will tell you everything.

Hard pass on that, nothing but over-priced blingy mall crawler parts that all need removed and replaced with proper stuff...must drive terrible with that much lift and those low profile steamroller tires/wheels. But if you like it, it's way over-priced as someone else said it's all 6 years old and used.

This all seems shady to me. Like they are trying to trick people into thinking they are getting the "Moab" package from Jeep but they just painted some parts red and put what looks like a "Moab" label maker sticker on it. Like The Asylum version of Jeeps.

If you go to their website the tagline is "Your Source For Functional Art" which I don't really know what that means.

I’m looking at buying a used JL or JT and I see a lot that have already been modded that I like but I’m leery about used lift kits. I can either find one unmodded around $30k and throw $8k at it or find one around $38k that has a lot more than $8k in mods already done to it. What experience do yall have buying used already modded and any recommendations appreciated? I’m in southeast Texas and would really be on beaches, trailers and mud but not a lot of rock climbing. If I do the build myself it would most likely be Metal cloak 3.5 mid arm true dual with 35’s to start. It will also be my daily and I drive 60 miles round trip daily. Thanks ahead of time.
Honestly I'd be more concerned about what's going on in the engine bay of a used JL Wrangler!

All the issues with these things seem to be in the engine bay. (Unless you're one of those weirdos who cares about your paint)

I think most people would take one look at my Jeep and the modifications that I've done and think that I ruined it, but they hold up pretty damn well. I have the wrong coils (coils for a sport) on the front end of my EcoDiesel (500 lb difference between engine weights) and although I have a little bit of sag in the front, I've been able to put off replacing them for about half a year now, and probably won't get around to it until the end of next year.

Basically what I'm getting at is you got to do some extremely stupid shit to screw up a Jeep Wrangler. At the end of the day as long as the engine is good, it drives in a straight line, and there's no obvious damage to the suspension and driveline components, I wouldn't be too worried as long as they're using brand names you know of, And even if they're not, as long as those non-brand names aren't integral components of the vehicle moving forward or backwards or climbing up rocks.

I mean I've got a no name fuel can holder on the side of my Jeep, with a no name fuel can on it. My back window isn't really a back window, and It really doesn't stop water from getting into the vehicle, but you wouldn't know unless you went in and inspected it after rainstorm. But I have the drain plugs pulled out back there, so you'd pretty much never know anyways. It's not like it's pooling water or nothing. :like:

Enough about my crazy antics, my oil has been changed regularly, all of the differential and transfer case fluids have been maintained properly, my engine though it has 60,000 mi on it is clean and efficient running, and even though I have some improper coils on the front end, and probably some improper stuff throughout the vehicle, it's still drives just fine, I still off-road just fine... So I wouldn't be too worried as long as the major structural and driveline components are good.

The coils up front are only $200 bucks to replace them, but I wasn't a fan of dropping the axles the first time. It was way more work than I was wanting to do. And when I do upgrade those front coils, I'll probably just upgrade all four and go with a 2.5" coils all around, and pay a shop to do it. And since they're going to be down there anyways, might as well get some new steel knuckles and ball joints while I'm at it. And then the only issue is trying to convince the wife that I need to pay someone else $1,000 to do all the work that I technically could do myself, but really don't want to. That's a weekend project, and I like having my weekends free if I can help it!

“Your source for functional art“ is marketing speak for lipstick on a pig
