Bumpers - custom in CO area

I was going to finally break down and buy a winch for my rig today, then checked the winch plate bracket for the stocker..$319.

I'm not paying $319 for a winch plate when I can put that towards a super duty aftermarket bumper.

Anyone have a preference of a good quality 3/8 plate aftermarket? Or anything local here in CO or surrounding states within driving distance? I figure I can drive somewhere for a several day trip, have it installed, etc.

I’m not aware of any, but also I’ve never looked. I’m assuming you know this… a HD bumper is no replacement for a winch. Can’t hook your bumper up and pull yourself out if you get stuck. Winch was one of the first things I bought for my JK when I first moved here.

Yep I understand. The stock bumper requires a $300 mounting plate. An aftermarket bumper won’t so I figure put $300 towards the new bumper.

I would look into ARB, often stocked and even discounted @Northridge4x4 (Disocunt: JLWranglerForum); ships free. The quality of ARB is top notch. Even if Northridge doesn’t have it in stock, it maybe shipped directly from ARB (my sliders did and was delivered very quickly).

I don’t recommend Road Armor.

Hefty Fab Works, they are located in Colorado Springs. All hand made 100% in USA. Love my Bumpers. They are well built, fairly light and the front includes a built-in winch tray. The only caveat is you have to paint them yourself. I had mine poweder coated.

It's pretty sad that a $40-70k off-road rig doesn't come with a winch plate in its winch capable bumper option. Those Hefty Fab bumpers look awesome, if I still lived in the Springs I would definitely give them a call.

Yeah I agree. The winch plate WAS $250 prior to our current ‘supply chain’ issue/s. Now it’s listed for $319.

Next Venture is in Grand Junction. They have a number of designs for different functions with well placed mounting points and internal gussets. Powder coat or bare metal finishes. I can't speak for the steel bumpers because I went the aluminum route. Love the craftsmanship which should be universal no matter the bumper. The welds are so nice I couldn't stand to grind them smooth so I just buffed to a satin finish and clearcoated with satin.

Yes, I just got back from Moab and the bumpers are very solid. I would definitely buy them again.
