I've been running 2.5'' of bump travel with my 2.5'' springs because I added a 1/2'' front spacer and 3/4'' rear. I'm noticing I have about 2'' front and 1'' rear shock (up)stroke I've never seen, even when hard into the bumpstops. I'm running durospring bumpstops so it's hard to tell when you're into them hard but things I've been running already in CO 4x4 season (July-October when its not snowing or monsoon) this year I'm sure I have more than a few times. I know the durosprings compress about 2'' maybe more..

Wondering if I should drop down to 1.5'' of bump?? opinions?

Yes, always, having too much bump sucks balls.

Best way to tell is just pull the springs and see how far it actually goes with the bumps, your rear might be damn close once all the weight is just on the bumps. The rear shocks cycle more than the axle moves

There’s probably an easier way to do it , but what I did was, I unbolted the shock, took out the spring but put 4 pucks on and stuffed the axle to see how much of the top bump hung down from the housing and measured it. Then removed the pucks and bolt the shock in and stuff the axle till bottom out the shock, then measured the gap between the top bump housing and the axle puck plate., added in my first measurement, then added another 1/4” and that’s how much bottom bump pucks I needed. In my case it’s 3” of bump. And the result is this at full stuff......

Thanks for the info guys.. I removed .5'' from the front/rear yesterday and it's obvious that I've been on the bumpstops a lot. I can feel the difference. I think the longer durospring stops require less bottom stop. They work really well so you can't tell when you're on them until they really firm up at max compression and even then you don't have a smack like the hard stock ones.

I'll pull the springs one day but for now it's feeling like I'm on the stops less and using more of the available up-travel.

Glad I bought the .5'' spacers kit from teraflex so I can play with shorter stacks...

Bumps are there to prevent bottoming out of shocks, to keep suspension components from hitting stuff (like my Artec engine skid support arms), and to keep tires from tearing up fenders. So, you only need as much bump as needed to keep that from happening. I run 2” of bump with the durosprings and nothing hits.

This is full compression and the 37s hit nothing. I’ve since gone to GenRight fenders and may remove another 1” up front. Just worried the tire will hit the grill if I do that.
