Bugs above windshield in gap with roof

You know How bugs and bug crap accumulates in this gap between top of windshield and roof? Anybody find a part that can pop in that gap to avoid the bug mess?

I’ve thought of that. Only need it on road trips. I’m going to use 3/4” black painters tape from top of windshield to edge of roof

I just looked at that section of mine and for some reason it's not really an issue. There's about the same amount of bug splatterings there as on the windshield and the paint above the gap.

I had initially thought of the approach that @AFD suggested, but I'm now thinking that it wouldn't stick in there.
