Brakes squeal when cold

The brakes on my JLURD recently started squealing when I go down my driveway. The squealing doesn't last long.

It's only got 20k miles on it, but it's heavy AF. As far as I can tell the brakes seem fine. I wouldn't normally worry about it, but we're making our way to California for the Rubicon Trail at the end of the month. Thoughts?

Normally, I'd say don't worry about it. You appear to have plenty of pad material left.

Given your upcoming trip, you might want to clean the rotors with some brake cleaner and then try a couple of hard stops to bed the pads again and see if the squealing stops.

My wife's JLUR with 78k miles does the same thing. It did it stock and after the modifications. I've greased the pad slides and gotten it to quit but it usually comes back in a matter of weeks.

In the past-I have always sprayed the back of the pads that meet the calipers with an anti squeal compound and it seems to go away.

It's not annoying or anything since it goes away so quickly. Just making sure that I wasn't missing something.
