Brake to Steering Wheel Lock Recommendations?

Apologies in advance if this has been covered
Did a search, and nothing came up.

Back in 209, a JLR w/manual was and was specified with a hardtop so it has some theft/mischief protection.

This time, ordered a JLR w/manual, soft top, and half doors.
Finally, the ordered placed back in February is transit :D

Since it is a manual, it does have some anti-theft protection

Jeep Wrangler JL Brake to Steering Wheel Lock Recommendations? Manual anit theft

Since it not recommended to not lock a vehicle with a soft top and it is relatively easy to release the parking brake, put the transmission in neutral, and then push the Jeep somewhere, was thinking it would be good to have a steering wheel to brake lock like the one shown below:

Thoughts on which brake-to-steering wheel lock works best with a JL?

I agree that it is not much of a deterrent to a real car thief.
As we know, a lock is device that keeps an honest person honest.

What I am trying to avoid is folks who are up to mischief, seeing an Jeep with the top off, and then doing something silly like moving the JL.

Figured a wheel to brake lock would help to dissuade mischief-makers from causing troubles.

Back 35+ years ago I had bought one of those thinking it was a good idea. Then started seeing videos on how easy it was to take them off. A steering wheel only has about an 1/8 wire core, a pair of hand loppers cut the wheel bend it slide the lock off bend the wheel back and you're off.

Honestly, I can't say I have ever heard about anything like that happening other than maybe garbage being tossed in.

Maybe a hidden brake line lock under the dash? Might be a not so good idea with the anti lock brakes though??
You’d only be locking one wheel but that’ll stop a roll away attempt.

Brake Line Lock Shut Off Valve 1/8" NPT Billet Aluminium Red https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07CBRXTF3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_HC2X1ACH3GRAK0KMYA69

There’s electric solenoid versions too, but current draw over time would be an issue. But easier install and hiding of the switch. Would work for short term parking.

Not an easy answer here.

If you live somewhere that this is a realistic fear, you need to flee.
If you think I’m wrong, then it’s not a realistic fear.

Though I appreciate all the feedback. no one has answered the question.
All the points are valid. Still the question remains.

Has anyone had/tried a brake to steering wheel lock on a JL?

Well I have 2 of them. One steer to brake and one just on the steering wheel. Trust me, there is nothing to a steering wheel but a little 1/8 wire and a lot of padding. They are designed to give in an accident, they bend like a pretzel. If someone is after your vehicle they're useless. To deter mischief?, it might work... or they could do more damage because they are pissed.

Have I used it on a JL, NO But knowing what a steering wheel is made of and seeing it done its a joke.
