I was changing my brake pads out today with 58k on the Jeep. 2 of the 8 pads that were removed had broken spring clips; the one that stays on the caliper itself.

I haven't been able to find much info about these on here.

I think the part number is 68159523AC.

Has anyone else replaced these before? Please help.

I have a 2019 Sahara 3.6, if that matters (larger Rubicon brakes).

They come with new brake pads. It is really not a big deal. It is more to hold the pads in place during manufacturing. They are not even necessary to have on.

My pads did not include those. If the lack of them won't cause me any issues, I'd prefer to just leave it as is because those things are annoying as hell lol.

When I changed my pads to Hawk LTS, they did not come with new spring clips. A few of the stock clips broke upon installation of the new pads. I've been running it that way for awhile with no issues.

I have a set of hawk pads and was gunna pick up a set of new clips in case I need to replace a few. That's the same part number I was looking at buying.

Those are the pads I went with. My 70 mile drive home from where I installed them seemed to have no odd noises or brake issues.

I figure I'll give the $30 Crown Automotive clips a try just to see how they fit. These things can't be that critical.

Side note: these LTS pads are so nice compared to stock.

I'll let you know how to Crown clips work out. I'll be attempting to install those early March when I return from vacation.
