Doing some shopping around today. Anyone have recommendations on brake pads for a Rubicon? Thanks in advance!

EBC Yellow or Green on the front. I run the Green, but others like the Yellow. When it comes to stopping EBC stops on a dime and leaves change. I also run the front rotors.

Front does 70% or more of all the stopping.

Doesn't appear to be any place in the US to buy them.

Haven't purchased Pads for the Rubi yet but I've used the Power Stop Ceramics on my Vette and loved them. Reasonably priced, wore well, and eliminated A LOT of brake dust vs factory pads.

Again, NOT on the Jeep so my experience is 6 pads per wheel vs 2 but it was a big improvement over stock pads in both stopping, and dust.

I originally replaced my Rubicon pads with the Z36 from PowerStop. They're better than the stock pads, but I wanted more bite. Wear seemed to be decent and they were low dust.

I recently went with the Hawk LTS pads (front and rear). These have better initial bite than stock and the Z36 pads. The initial prognosis for me is they are better than the Z36. Haven't had them long enough to judge wear.

I've used the EBC Green and Yellow on a TJ Rubicon. I like the Yellow better, but you can't go wrong with either of them. The only reason I didn't go with EBC on my latest brake pad change was I couldn't get them within a reasonable amount of time. I believe Summit Racing carries EBC brake pads for the JL.

Question for you. We're your rear LTS pads tough to get into the pad clips on the caliper brackets? I looked at all four of the rear pads and they appeared visually identical as I was thinking them being tough to go in they may be side specific. The rear pads appear to be identical but they were tough to go in while the OE ones that came out popped in and out with ease. Do you know what part numbers you used front and rear for the LTS pads? I'm trying to make sure I got the right ones. Appreciate it!

FRONT: HB941Y.712
REAR: HB942Y.707

I believe the rear pads were a little tighter to get into the caliper brackets. I chalked that up to Hawk's tighter manufacturing tolerances. I use Sil-Glyde on the bracket clips and the "ear" of the pads as it helps with installation and to keep the pads from binding in the brackets. They're not side specific.

If you're having a problem getting to seat into the caliper brackets and some disc brake lube isn't helping:
1) ensure the clips are fully seated
2) use sandpaper, file, etc. to knock off some of the coating on the ears of the pads. Maybe a little too much coating was applied and is keeping the pad from seating correctly. I would remove a little at a time and test fit. You don't want too loose of a fit.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Check Tirerack.com for the Hawk pads, they had the best pricing a while ago, and that's going to be my next pad too, had great experience w/ Hawk pads on previous vehicles, and they'd be similar to the EBC sets, think both would be good options.

I bought mine from Tire Rack. Northridge 4x4 also carries them and I normally buy everything from them, but I wanted them NOW and I have a Tirerack warehouse 30 minutes away.
