My front brake pads are worn enough that I'm going to replace them soon. I just put a set of the top of the line Autozone Duralast pads on my JK and I really like them. But they don't have those for the JL.

Any recommendations? OReilly has some Wagner OEX pads that look to be long lasting and low dust. I just want to see what others have used and if they are happy with them. I'm also guessing that all Rubicon JL's have the bigger brakes, correct?

Oddly, my JK always wears the rears out faster than the front pads. The JL seems to wear the fronts more quickly than the rears.

Thanks!

Powerstop K7940-36

you will be very happy with them.
Thanks! That includes the rotors. I think I found those same pads, without the rotors. I'm going to order those up!

Those exact pads were designed to specifically work in conjunction with the slotted/drilled rotors. Unfortunately.

I've used both the Powerstop pads and Hawk LTS pads on my JL. I prefer the Hawk LTS pads over the Powerstop pads. While the Powerstop pads are an upgrade over the stock pads, the LTS pads are even better than Powerstop. They have a better initial bite and pedal feel over Powerstop.

They sell them separately and look similar to other premium pads, so I'd think they should do fine with the stock rotors. Those slotted/drilled rotors look pretty badass, though. That said, my driving style and manner doesn't result in the need for that level of cooling. I'm generally pretty easy on brakes, even when towing.

Thanks!

Yeah definitely available separately, let me know what you think of them with the stock rotors.

I agree. I installed the power stop rotors and pads and initially they felt better than the OEMs but now they feel the same. I would go for something else.

I'm leaning now toward the Hawk pads. I've been fairly pleased with the OEM, but will take improvement, every time. The Powerstops are economical at $45, but $76 is just fine for better performance. And I'd rather support a Jeep vendor than Amazon. Of course, even the OEM (bigger rotors/pads) perform better than premium stuff on my JK. So I'm looking forward to even better performance from the JL. I just don't need to spend money on rotors, too, when the original rotors are in such good shape.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! You are the BEST!

Northridge 4x4 has them, don't know if they're in stock though. I bought mine from Tire Rack as I'm near to one of their warehouse's, they were in stock and I could pick them up the same day.
