Hey all, noticed it tonight getting home I didn’t see the brake lights turning on when tapping the brakes getting into my spot. Thought I was going crazy but sure enough if I turn the headlights on so that all the lights are running, the oracle flush mount don’t get brighter for the brake light. But if I turn the lights off, they come on like normal.

I’m gonna muck around with JSCAN to see if changing to LED tail lights etc will fix anything but curious if anyone’s seen this.

So update, if the running lights are off, brake light, turn signals and hazards work. If the running lights are on, hazards, and brake lights do not work.

Any ideas?

While you wait, chuck a stock one in and see if it replicates. That will tell you where the problem is. In saying that, I had my first set of Flushmounts corrode out after 2 years. This second set I PlastiDipped the backside to protect electronics. Almost 2 years with them now.

May wanna plastidip actually now that you mention it. I actually found a set of stock LED tails for a hell of a deal so now they’re back ups for if/when they fail.

Let us know if you find a solution other than replacement.

Ya, up here a couple winters shit kicked them. Doesn't help the JL has an open hole to the backside of them on drivers side either. Lol.

There’s a couple of “engineering” decisions that really make me scratch my head on the JL. That being one of them, the second being that body connect in the passenger rear wheel well that’s exposed to all kinds of rocks and mud and water.
