Ive got 4 of those. I see that Old Forester Single Barrel is a store pick, mine is too. I got it because the store manager suggested it and I buy some of the stuff they promote so they take care of me when good stuff comes in. I was very surprised at how good it is. I can’t bring myself to open my Van Winkle 12 year yet. Is it just like Weller 12 as some people say?
The Lot B is really good. It is a lot like W12, just more enhanced tastes. It is a great, light tasting bourbon. Not worth secondary, but not much is IMO. At retail, it is a great buy.

Thanks. I think mine is lot B. Unfortunately Van Winkle no longer exists in the real world at retail anywhere that I have access to. So it’s a matter of secondary pricing that’s not outrageous or that’s beyond someone’s ability or willingness to pay. I paid kinda high secondary, not highway robbery secondary.

My nephew just sent me a jug of Basil Hayden. Haven't broken the seal on it yet, but I've always been curious about that particular brand.

I’ve got a bottle of this. A little lower proof than what I typically care for but tasty none the less. Enjoy!

BH is one of my favorite pours in that low end of the moderate price point. Haven't tried the Toast yet. I love the dark rye!

Out of curiosity, where’d you find the BP EHT?
Some buddies and I built a relationship with a local guy who owns 3 small liquor stores. We visit him a couple of times each month, buy some of what he recommends, buy some stuff that makes him margin, bring in friends to buy from him when they're looking for gifts to give, etc.

Been managing the relationship for a few years now. And we're at the point where he tells us about everything he gets in. We're not always at the top of the contact list, but he's honest with us, shows us his cost from his distributors, and will hunt stuff down for us. He got two bottles of the EH BP in and we got one of 'em.

I came across a bottle of Old Van Winkle 10yr this weekend for $1,500. That's 2x what I paid for the first bottle of 15yr Pappy that I ever bought.

Man, I can't wait for the clear spirits to come back into vogue so all of the pretenders will move back away from my beloved whisk(e)y...

I just got a bottle of this at Costco. We will see how to is but that 10yr BH I cracked last night may be one of my newest favorites.
