Now that it's been finally confirmed for the JL, what is everyone expecting/hoping for? I'd personally like to see something like the Rugged Ridge Powertop but a little smoother action and obviously without that hefty price tag.

I know there's a bunch of other aftermarket examples they can draw from.

I hope I'm wrong but I just can't see this being a tight fold down.
Leaks will always be an issue I'm sure. Just don't want to see a Liberty Sky Slider type of top.

Ok you go find those while we talk amongst ourselves :like:;)
I meant pics of your Rugged Ridge example... I don't have time to search the innerwebs for that stuff.

Oh, wait...

that rugged ridge one looks like it is all one piece. Is that the case? I frequently end up driving with the top up but the windows off. Maybe I am in the minority there, but I would prefer to still have removable side and rear window even on a power top.

but if I had a power top, maybe I would not do that as much. just with the humidity in the Northeast, get those frequent 5 pm storms, where I will just put the top up, but leave the windows off.

Read the title and expected a Malcolm X themed decal on the top.

Yea I think so. There's another from MyTop that is similar design and it's one piece. They call the lack of a zippable window a 'safety feature' lol whatever you call it it aint cheap!

With the RR solution my main worry is the plastic windows' creases developing cracks/tears and also rubbin road grit into them an scratching the plastic.

Side window clarity isn't a big issue, but does affect should checks, whereas that rear is more important, and even with delicate unzipping and storage, after a summer of up/down that rear can get rather cloudy with scars.

It will be interesting to see how they account for all that.

The Rugged Ridge one is no longer being sold, probably due to no one wanting to spend 5K on a soft top. On another note I would not be surprised if it's a JL Unlimited option only.
