I'd like to replace my antenna with a black one, but can't find any in full length. Living where I do, anything less will degrade reception. Anybody seen one anywhere? Rather not mess with paint or plastidip.

I got one on Amazon. I think it's only a couple inches shorter. Search for antennamastsRus

The Bronco antenna is something that I saw in another thread the other day. Seems to work well, but it needs an adapter to thread on.

I was about to say the same thing. Here’s a link to the YouTube video that gives the part numbers:

IMO putting the Bronco one on a Wrangler is just as ugly as the stock Jeep one.

What antenna looks good? None of them, there are only varying levels of ugliness.

Think I'm gonna try out the 27" mast antenna that was recommended by @Headbarcode (who has the 31" version). Looks factory and should keep near-OEM reception, while hopefully a bit more flush with the roofline and a lot less noticeable in black.

The Bronco one looks great on the Bronco, but will have a noticeable amount of brass visible from needing to use a thread adapter on the JL.

Heat shrink is a great idea. Wish I had thought about that one earlier. I did mine with spray plastic dip. It was easy, cheap and looks good. I did it about a year ago and it still looks great. Taped off the threads and hung it upside down from a tree and sprayed 4 coats on it.
