I'm thinking of mounting an iPad mini in my JL to be used for navigation near the passenger side. I like the low profile 67D rail for the JL, but there seems to be numerous mounting options.

My goal is to mount it low so I don't lose visibility out the windshield. What length arm do you suggest? These things aren't cheap, and rather not try to guess or order 3 different sized arms.

EDIT: Also, I plan on having a passenger. Something that is more flat against the dash or in front of the stock radio is more desirable than something hangout out over the passenger's lap.

Check out Anvil Overland. I’m running their bar and mounts and really like them. I got the 20mm balls, so their mount will work with any other manufacturer that uses a 20mm set up. I also like that AO’s stuff is all metal - no 3D printed stuff.

See my RAM setup below Ram suction cup, 6" arm, double ball for a 2" drop, Tablet mount. Choose the exact fit tablet mount for your device. Mine adjusts for Nav display and to the right for the passenger. Arm rest on the dash pad to reduce forces on the suction cup and to reduce screen vibration. Screen fits close to the dash.

Ditto Ram mounts, used em in airliners, never had an issue that wasn't caused by poor attach technique.

Looks nice, but I don't like having that bar go across horizontally. I prefer a more low-profile look.

These look nice as well, but I'm trying to use the least amount of real estate up on the dash and windshield. The JL window is tiny enough and don't want to crowd it anymore than I have to.

Thank you though for the response and suggestion!

I have the iPad mount from them and I’m pretty sure I recall their site saying to not use a longer arm length than small.

Yup, after reading everything I saw the fine print on that.

I ended up ordering the small one and hope that it works. I really wished that they had an adjustable extension because I hate spending the money on it if it's not going to work as expected. And starting at $30 isn't cheap.
