Looking at doing a front fender chop on my 2021 JLUR. I have seen a few kits over the years and hoping the bugs have finally been worked out with yellowing lenses, fast flash, etc. What would everyone's suggestion be for the best bang for your buck and the least problems and not break the bank hopefully. Do I need fender liners or can I keep the stock with certain kits? I'm not looking to go crazy just looking to get rid of the big marker/turn lenses. Pics a bonus. Thanks!

I order the infinite off-road fender chop, they seem to be a bit more substantial compared to the other on the market and a cheaper price. They come with a 25 year warranty also. I haven’t installed them yet since issues with my jeep. But I planned to keep part of the inner fender where the xr is extensions go but swap the actual liners for a set of motobilt liners.

dirt road cred has a video of them installing them. May want to check it out.

In my opinion, doing a fender chop and keeping the OEM liners is a waste of time, and may not work great due to how they bolt the OEM fender. I also think they look funny, but that's another discussion.

I put the old version of the AAL light/bracket on my wife's JLUR, and had trouble with the bulb out indicator. When they released the "updated" version, I was able to swap to them and it's a game changer. The new version has worked great!!

I’ve been running the Quake kit for 3 months. I was able to keep my fender liners. So far so good. It was an upgrade for me as I had halogen lights. I think they look good. The metalcloak option will probably be the best option.

I went quake a few years ago. I did have some minor issues with the 1st set after 2 years.

They sold me a discounted replacement set of lenses and they've been good for about a year so far.

I also kept the factory plastic liners. No issues in that regard.

I did a Quake fender chop using this great video regarding trimming the OEM liners by our own @ExpeditionBuilds Later I ended up doing a full gut of the fenders using Motobilt inner fender liners. Nothing wrong with doing it in stages if you’re unsure about the inner fenders. Smoked lenses so no worries about yellowing. I did have water intrusion on one light assembly just outside of warranty. Quake handled It without any fuss.

I just ordered some AAL brackets, no lights, and the Motobilt inner fenders. I'm on the fence on buying AAL LEDs. I have some Amazon aluminum strip lights that I've been using for a couple years when I take the fenders off completely. They seem to do the job well and they're still working. I'll try them with some 2 way foam tape to see if I want to spend a fistful of hundred dollar bills for looks.

I ordered the Rugged Ridge and waited 8 months and still never got them because of some stupid issue Ruuged Ridge supposedly had packaging the kit that has the DRL included. I gave up on them and went with the Quake. Am very pleased with them. Do need a Tazer to recalibrate for LED’s though.
I chose to do the full chop and get rid of the plastic liners and the black plastic fender trim all together. Installed set of Nemesis inner fenders front and rear. Sprayed the underside of my fenders with spray bedliner as well as the exposed body and fender clips to make look as clean as possible.

You had to use a taser? Did you have halogens or led from factory?

I run the Quake kit and had one of the early versions that had LED issues. They swapped it out twice under warranty no questions asked and in the last year Ive had 0 issues with them. At first I just used the stock liners cut and bolted to the fender brackets and have since moved to the Motobilt liners and both work just fine with the kit.

how hard was it to keep the stock plastic fender liners? could you share some pictures so I can see if and what you cut? I am looking at doing the same if I can keep the fenderliners without a huge hassle. Thanks-
