Another company I had read about in the past was Yukon. Are they decent gears?
Will sent a Yukon install kit, but recommend and sent Dana gears. He damn sure knows more than me. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yes the dealer did install, it was more expensive but the cheaper installer I planned on dismissed finishing and our resident gearing expert told me “find another installer” , also “if we install we normally look the other way for warranty purposes” ……. Definition of “Normally” hopefully not to be determined.

ok, I was thinking it had to be dealer, but was also thinking so many people crap on dealerships that I thought maybe it was dumb to think to have dealership do it. when I do a regear, I would think I would go that route, mopar 4.56 with dealership install.

I wouldn't trust a dealership to install gears. That's something where an aftermarket shop is a much better option. Dealerships hire the bottom of the barrel because anyone better can get a better job elsewhere. And the independent shop has much more experience.

So much also depends on the expertise of the installer. My shop of choice only installs revolution gears. They installed 4.56, i drove the 500 miles doing the appropriate break in, they inspected and changed the differential fluid, and all ha been great. A poor install will make any gear set suck.

X2, what did you wind up doing and how's yer gears? Researching possible upcoming gear change from factory 4.10s to maybe 4.56 for my new 35s. Driving it a bit and need to go wheeling before any rush decisions. :)
@Ratbert
Yeah, how about an update....?
Damn, I thought I had posted an update. My bad.

They replaced the Nitro 4.63s with Dana Spicer 4.56s. There was still a barely noticeable slight hum when decelerating, but that hasn't gotten any worse since new.

Note that they gave me break-in instructions. I didn't baby the previous replacements due to my ignorance of it. Definitely did this (final?) iteration.

Installation was done by Predator in Colorado Springs.

Best way to find a good shop is to hook up with the local 4x4 clubs and ask around.
