Yes the dealer did install, it was more expensive but the cheaper installer I planned on dismissed finishing and our resident gearing expert told me “find another installer” , also “if we install we normally look the other way for warranty purposes” ……. Definition of “Normally” hopefully not to be determined.im not any kind of ready to do a regear, but this is interesting, so mopar (dana) is good...
prolly a stupid question but have dealership do install?
(I dont see myself doing a regear, unless I get convincenced its not that bad)
ok, I was thinking it had to be dealer, but was also thinking so many people crap on dealerships that I thought maybe it was dumb to think to have dealership do it. when I do a regear, I would think I would go that route, mopar 4.56 with dealership install.Yes the dealer did install, it was more expensive but the cheaper installer I planned on dismissed finishing and our resident gearing expert told me “find another installer” , also “if we install we normally look the other way for warranty purposes” ……. I wouldn't trust a dealership to install gears. That's something where an aftermarket shop is a much better option. Dealerships hire the bottom of the barrel because anyone better can get a better job elsewhere. And the independent shop has much more experience.im not any kind of ready to do a regear, but this is interesting, so mopar (dana) is good...

X2, what did you wind up doing and how's yer gears? Researching possible upcoming gear change from factory 4.10s to maybe 4.56 for my new 35s. Driving it a bit and need to go wheeling before any rush decisions.![]()
Damn, I thought I had posted an update. My bad.@Ratbert
Yeah, how about an update....?
im still a ways from being ready to do it, but so will need to find a shop west side of houston when the time comes.I wouldn't trust a dealership to install gears. Best way to find a good shop is to hook up with the local 4x4 clubs and ask around.im still a ways from being ready to do it, but so will need to find a shop west side of houston when the time comes.
