im pretty sure you don't need a new carrier for dana 44 when putting in 4.56 gears,

Not sure about the motive ring and pinion, but I went with a G2 thick cut set (also 4.56) for the m220 on my sport. Part number listed on my invoice is 1-2152-456.

It fit on the open factory carrier as well as the arb air locker. There was some trouble getting it to fit on an eaton e locker. Fairly sure that was an application mix up with the locker spec though.

I want to regear my Sport S to 4.56. I opted for the rear anti-spin diff and don't want to buy a new carrier. Motive Gear makes a thick cut 4.56 ring and pinion for D44 that fits 3.73 carriers and lower. Perfect. Except it is described as suitable for TJs. I was wondering if it would fit the JL D44 m220 narrow? Thanks for your help.

That won't work. You need a M220 specific gearset, dana part# 10067141. You don't need a new carrier, those gears will work on any sport, sahara, or rubicon axle as long as it is a M220 (dana 44 advantek). For the front you need dana part# 10026645.

Thank you. I recently learned about the Dana 44 being able to accommodate all of that. Just bought Yukon gears.
