Battery/Starting Issues

I've been having some random starting issues the past week and was hoping someone may know the answer.

A few weeks ago I didn't have remote start, ESS, and after what I thought was the fix, I replaced both the AUX and Main batteries. Fast forward to this past week and it did it again. Jeep just won't start, after looking into it again and trying a few things I disconnected the main battery all together leaving just the AUX battery connected and it started right up.

Would that mean the Main battery I just replaced is already bad? or something else?

My guess is the high amp fuse array. They are the main fuses on the side of the fuse box.

I just checked that, had to pop off the black piece to see the fuse connections. All looked in tacked. It did have some slight discoloration, but all were connected.

You cannot visually check them. Do you have a multimeter?

Are your new batteries fully charged? Just because they are new, doesn’t mean they have a full charge. Batteries should be 12.6 to 12.8 volt at full charge. Check that first, then check and make sure all cable connections are tight, including ground cable terminations. If all that is good, check fuses, then check for parasitic draw.

Just took both the AUX and Main to Autozone and they both checked out good.

When I removed the AUX battery the negative post was wiggly, so we’ll see if that was the culprit once I get it back in.

Update: I got it started, took it to the dealer Sunday. They called Monday and it was a bad starter. $900 repair ?‍?

It is good that they found the problem. Also make sure that your battery terminals are tight.

I have had the same problem. My 2018 Jeep JL has had more issues than my Toyota 2005 Corolla. I regret my purchase and will never buy a Jeep again
