My 2020 wrangler unlimited it’s at the dealer right now. Just called and said $900 to replace both main battery and the auxiliary battery. Auxiliary battery is completely dead and only 24% juice left in the main battery allegedly. Bought the car used about a year ago, outside of warranty. Is this price legit? Seems crazy to me.
Yes very high price. But need to replace both. Never replace one. The bad one will kill the good one. But I’m sure you can beat the price

No way would I pay that! Batteries are not difficult to change in your driveway.

Get a price from an independent shop and decide from there. You have no warranty so no reason to go to the dealer.

Main battery is 20 minutes tops to change. The AUX battery depends on how they are going to access it. If you go in from the top then you have to remove the fuse panel. If you go on through the fender well then no fuse panel to try and break. From the bottom should be about an hour for labor.

The project is NOT $450 for labor.

I can tell you, I had read up on the replacement battery area and I am one of those guys that will spend so much time reading and researching what's the best battery to get **

Way back R & S auto here in NJ was an auto store. I worked for the for a while and I was taught as a Salesman

There were basically prince points for what you get.
Cheap $ = Cheap $ Medium priced you had the luck of the draw, maybe live forever or die a short life
The best were the most $$$ and supposed to live forever.
I remember guys telling me things like "I`ll be dead before that battery will" "I`ll let the next guy worry about it" AND even jokingly asked could we cut the brake line on his wife's car so she and the battery can go at the same time. All in in good fun back in the late 70`s

**So back to the point of me doing all of this research and asking questions, by the time I figure out what's the best battery to get. My battery will die in the driveway and I`ll be dragging an old battery to Walmart to replace it lol
