Dang it! Everything I like starts at over 1k!! This thing is more expensive than my boat lol!!!
So the question is, do you eliminate the FAD or keep it??

I have the new knuckles and ball joints coming for next weekend install. It would be much better to put these axles in now…GEESH! 3-4k miles??? That seems kind of odd. Do they sling the old grease out? I’m getting this ready for another trip out west so I am wanting to make as strong as possible short of installing tons.I wouldn't recommend rcv if your just getting them for the orange covers. You''ve got to grease them about every 3-4k miles or they start to click. To grease them you've got to remove the wheels also.
They throw out a ton of grease. I ran stock shafts in the front for 2 years. The joints and the shafts are pretty beefy on the Rubicon. If you think you need them by all means get em. Your previous post just sounded like you wanted them for the orange boots and they come with too much maintenance for an orange boot imo lol.3-4k miles??? That seems kind of odd. Well to be honest, I did but when I read the description of the axles I got all giddy as I have been looking to upgrade the axles! Got a few hundred miles on mine, and really no mess at all right now. When do you think I would start seeing grease? the caps on mine where so tight getting them to snap on, I really don’t see how any grease is going to escape.RCVs aren’t much maintenance for the strength you get and the grease mess comes off easily with a power washer. I grease mine every 5k miles with about 10 pumps from the grease gun. I change the oil, rotate the tires, add RCV grease and it’s good to go. My RCVs have 20k miles and I wouldn’t swap them for anything else.
Mine leaked quite a bit at the beginning, but have slowed down a bunch. Mine may have been over greased and maybe yours don’t have enough in them. It shouldn’t be a mess, but some should be leaking out. Lots of tight turns promotes them to leak since the orange cap will be sweeping over the outer bells. 10 pumps per oil change seems to be perfect for mine…..for now.
