Mine are 17x9 +12 offset. They work great but do rub a little bit at full stuff off road. I think the perfect offset would be about 0 on a nine inch wide wheel for rubicons. They are gfx tr 10 wheels from discount tire. Normal price is about $115 a wheel I think but with Black Friday or a holiday sale I got them at $100 per wheel. Tires are 37x12.5 17 mastercraft mxt
How do you like the mastercraft MXTs? How do they compare to other tires?

So a zero or +5 offset, what backspace would you run? I see backspacing from -3.5 or -4.5 pretty common. Would -5 or more be an issue?

You’re getting backspacing and offset confused. Backspacing is always a positive number as it references where hub bore lies in the wheel. Offset can be positive or negative as it references off the center of the wheel. In theory 4.5 bs is 0 offset. -12 moves it more toward the Center of vehicle 12 mm pushing the wheel farther out. +12 would be the other way tucking it in. I suggest going to YouTube and watching a video on offset vs backspace as they will be able to describe it much better than me.
