The trend seems to be LED upgrading, but i didnt want the potential flickering, or overheating problems, along with the dispersed lighting and high cost.
So, i decided to just do a simple Halogen Upgrade. I went with Philips 9008 H13 +100 bulbs. It was a very simple replacement. When night came, i pointed the Jeep down the street. My lights actually light up the street, the way they should have, from the factory. Much brighter, and the light reaches out farther. Very very happy now. The best part was that it cost less than $30. I looked around later, and found you could get them chealer, but i went with a reputable seller, i trusted.

Silver stars are even brighter if they have them that fit. What size does ours take the h13?

Even though I've got the LED system installed--

I used HALOGEN lights for my REAR LIGHTS--not BACKUP LIGHTS, i can turn them on/off at will, with my AUX SW. system--

Yes, H13. I didn't know anything about Silver Stars.

Any pics?
No pics, they are just headlights. But they do shine brighter, and farther. Also, they are directed properly. Also, much cheaper than LED. I didn't need to light up the entire neighborhood. I already know what a poorly directed LED feels like, when its shined in my eyes, from an oncoming car. It takes a minute or two, to recover. I did a lot of reading on LED replacement bulbs. It seems that most have one issue or another. Main issues are poor focusing of the beam, and short life of the LED units. The short life seems to be linked to the constant overheating, and I know the sealed units that are in our Jeeps dont have any air circulation.

Reading the reviews, it sounds like they don't last very long. Seems to always be a rub on the headlight upgrade. I find the stock halogens very dim.

Its an interesting idea, I guess the only part I dont like is these brighter bulbs seem to last only 1-2 years max. I need to be able to count on my lights

i dont have any worries about them only lasting a couple of years. I've installed a brighter halogen on my Dodge Truck a few years ago, and have had no issues, at all. They were from reputable, major manufacturers. When you read bad review's, online, just like this Forum, many reviews are from people who have had problems. Most people will not post reviews of a product, if the product works fine.

lots of positive reviews are saying they replace 1.5 years and are worth it and they do it regularly. its more than the normal bottom % posting problems (and the bottom reviews have the 3 month replaced 2x never again expected reviews)

Just ordered some, thanks for the advice. On the short life, my plan is I will stick the take-off bulbs in my glovebox, and my worst-case scenario is I have to throw the old bulbs back in some night on the side of the road. I'll risk it.
