As previously seen my Jeep lights were mounted on the bumper. I later found some mounts that allow you to attach them to your hitch tube. Here's a phot of the set of lights I put on my Ram using them. If I were doing the Jeep all over again, I'd use these the next time around.

what lights are those that you used?

i want to use something like that, but want to mount them on top of the tali light housings (where i'm less likely to bash them.)

Those are the same ones that I have pictured on my truck. Cheap, effective, and so far they've been pretty durable.
I may try to find some floods instead of spots, but even as a spot they can be aimed to be effective reverse lights. For the price they're hard to beat.

Yes, they are very bright and cheap!

i might look for a Flood option of those; i think that would be ideal in this application.
