At a dealership for a battery(s) thing, it is wise to ask to talk to the Service Manager... again talk to the Service Manager and not the Service Writer.

Politely ask that he/she have the Tech, load test each of your batteries and to provide you with a printout of each of the 2 load tests.

IF either battery fails the load test, then indeed you have an iffy battery or iffy 2 batteries and you can get the dealer to replace under warranty.

The load testing takes a couple of hrs. of shop time, so very often they will not do proper load testing, but say they did or not even mention load testing to you.

IF you do not see the load tests printouts you cannot be sure they actually did do load testing..
I asked not only did the tech load test did they check the alternator or cabling for possible issues.
I am awaiting a phone call back tomorrow for that answer.

The Dealership Service Dept. Tech, when he does a load test on a battery he gets a printout. One printout for each battery. As mentioned ask to see the printouts. No print outs for you to see means they are blowing smoke up your ass in regard to them load testing your batteries.

I'm going to suggest that it's not even worth the time to take this to the dealer. If you can get a new battery out of it maybe it's worthwhile. Otherwise just disconnect the thing and go on.
A new main battery would be worth a little bit but they seem to be of questionable quality so it might last 3 years or it might last 1 or 2 years. Anybody who has any issue with their battery should just get rid of the little battery and replace the main battery with the best battery they can buy.

Probably the correct thing to do based off of the results.
I revived this as a question and a thread for others to see.
It was noted back in November here to come back and see what happened. I figured it was not good that only one battery was replaced.

The exact wording to the T on when I picked it up earlier.
If it happened again bring it back. I told them warranty up in 2 weeks. He said its been noted so we will see.
It passed all of their tests.
The test was explained as a tester. The tester checks battery. Charges battery for 7 mins then checks the battery again. If it passes the test it charges battery to full. At intervals the battery is checked throughout the process. If at any point the battery fails an interval test it pops up a warranty code to which the dealership can file for payment.
I was again told over the phone that I don't drive it enough. I told him I don't buy that BS. No issues with y driving distance for 2 1/2 years. Now in 6 months twice in the shop for battery.
They told me the same thing about not driving enough….but once battery failed tests, they threw in a new battery and your good to go.

To anyone following this I wanted to add a question and a thought.

Could I be to blame for the second issue with the battery ?

In Feb I installed a Tazer lite to recalibrate the tire size and turn off auto start/stop.
In this could It be I did something wrong ? I followed the instructions after setting the Tazer with full reboot and did the sleep cycle deal. Could the Tazer (I left it plugged in) be causing my issues ? Not a Taser issue but user error or some kind ?
