I have a question for the experts here. I installed the Speedflate Aux Battery Bypass (N1/N2 jumper) about 3 years ago after my original batteries failed and both were replaced under warranty. I also added a Tazer to permanently disable the start/stop feature. Now 3 years later, my battery is dead, so I ordered the Odyssey AGM battery. Is there any harm in keeping the aux battery in place? Will a dead aux battery drain the main battery even after bypassed?

If its still connected, disconnect the AUX negative from the main battery, tape it up good and tuck it out of the way. This completely removes the AUX from the equation and it will not drain your new battery

It sounds like you have 2 AGM batteries that are, care of the N1/N2 jumper, always connected in parallel. Because of this jumper, ESS events would run on both batteries, much as this point is moot given that you don't run ESS events care of your Tazer.

Because both batteries are connected in parallel I'm afraid you can't say which or if both batteries are dead. Here's my recommended steps.

1) Two black cables will, form the factory, connect to the negative post of the main battery. One of these cables, at its other end, connects to the body ground on the passenger's front quarter panel. Leave this cable connected. It is the other cable, as Wes says @TheNewGuy that should be removed and electric tapped up. Doing so isolates the Aux battery from the vehicile's electrical systems, never to be discharged by appliances or charged by the alternator again. If you are not running ESS events then I maintain that this Aux battery is more trouble to have connected than not.

2) With this Aux battery disconnected, a load (not a multimeter) tester should be taken to the main battery. Whatever the tester reads will reflect now only the main battery's status, whereas prior to step 1, any diagnostic from the tester would be inconclusive given that the batteries were connected.

3) If the main battery is dead I might see if it is chargeable before buying a new one.

4) If it is not, I'd recommend that you purchase a group H7, not H6 replacement battery, regardless of whether an H6 or H7 is installed currently. Different configurations of the JL get these different size batteries. And since I haven't seen much price difference in either size, nor is one more costly to charge (in gasoline) than the other, why not get the H7?

5) If you originally had the slightly smaller H6 you will need to unscrew a cleat in the battery tray bottom that allowed the smaller H6 battery to be held in the battery tray.

Good morning,
This is the only thread I could find on the Speedflate Aux Battery Jumper. I've replaced both batteries again and my buddy told me to buy this as it solved a similar problem he had.
The Speedflate site indicates the jumper is for the 3.6L. Has anyone used this on their 2.0L with success?
