That is what my dealer did. But then you are creating a safety issue. So you break one thing to fix another. Not what you paid for.
I agree with you completely, I was only thinking about it as a temporary fix while waiting for a real fix... the radio constantly cutting out would make me a little crazy. I can hardly wait until mine starts doing this too.

Let us know how that goes. Seems like no one in any thread has solved this issue yet. Hope this does it!
It's been a month, new camera install was Monday 3/18. Audio system and camera are both working well. I don't drive the Jeep everyday but no problems so far.

What has the weather been like. FCA had the dealer unhook my camera. The radio was fine. I hooked it back up myself because the dealer would not do it until STAR engineers told them to, and the radio problem came back, but it was in the low 30s in the morning. I unhooked it again as the radio would fail 3 out of 5 starts. Fast forward a month, the lows are in the 50s, highs in the 70s, I attached my camera and haven't had a problem in a week.

70 degrees here yesterday but a month ago, temps were in the teens. Maybe it will start having problems but so far so good.

Hoping yours is fixed!!! fingers crossed.
I do think that you need to let the system power up and go thru the two screens before the mapping comes up. I've found now that if I don't, and put it into reverse prior to this, I will lose the backup lines for a couple of starts. But radio has been fine since camera was replaced and coming up on 5 weeks.
Been fortunate that the service writer at my dealership has been willing to work with and for me with FCA.

I have all the same issues that you guys have. But as an added bonus to this list, this morning there was no sound at all instead of the cutting in and out problem

Camera replaced March 18, and seven weeks later with the exception of losing backup lines when going in reverse before the system completely boots up, all is working well, no radio problems. If you are still having the radio cutting out, your service manager needs to have their regional FCA service representative ok the replacement of the camera.

I have a star case open, and right now the only thing they have done is disconnect the camera. The dealer refuses to do anything until the engineers tell them. I have had this problem since January when I bought the Jeep. Jeep Care only says that there is a fix coming.. but they have been saying that for 6 weeks.

Going into week 8, audio system has had no problems. I believe camera replacement is the key. My understanding is the regional service rep for FCA can approve the camera replacement.
