Hey! Looking for some reviews/opinions on the AT4Ws if anyone is running them. I'm specifically looking to make the jump to 35s when I get new tires but could be swayed to 34's if there's a convincing argument. Some may have seen my recent post of frustration about KO3's taking forever to release in useable "aftermarket" sizes for jeeps so now I'm back to the drawing board. I have seen multiple threads with alternatives to the AT4W like toyo or baja boss etc. But I'm specifically looking for feedback on the AT4W's

We are running these on two vehicles in our Family. The Falken Wildpeak A/T4W Tires are very quiet, smooth riding, look good, and start out with the most tread depth of any A/T Tire. They are excellent on wet roads, plus they are snow rated. By far, my favorite tire. They also do not pick up stones/rocks like the KO2's do.

Appreciate that! Have you found the weight something that's noticeable? I know of course no one buys a jeep for mpgs but just curious to see what people are noticing.

2018 Jeep Wrangler JLUR
I drive a 2018 JLUR (3.6L) and installed the 35x11.50r17 AT4w about 7-8k miles ago. Just did the first 5 tire rotation with them. All 5 have ridden smooth and quiet for AT tires, even the brand new one I just pulled off the spare location and put in the rotation. I was averaging 16.3 mpg when they were installed and I haven't lost anything. It hovers between 16-17 mpg. I went from the stock size 33" KO2 tire to these. I also have .75" wheel spacers so they sit flush with the extended fender flares I have installed. At 38/39 psi the tires measured around 34.25" from the ground to the top. I used a level and measured on flat ground.

If you do jump up to the 35" AT4w and have the Rubicon rear bumper you will need to get a spare tire relocation bracket, the tire rubs on the bumper. Based on your info it looks like you have a Sahara so I can't speak to fitment on that bumper. I bought the Teraflex tailgate reinforcement kit that includes the relocation bracket since the new tire is heavier and I plan to add overland gear in the future. General rule is that the stock tailgate can handle 100 pounds without issues, but if you plan to offroad it with a heavier tire on the back you may get noise from the tailgate moving around. The Teraflex kit isn't cheap but it has been incredibly solid and keeps the new, heavier tire snug against the tailgate. I have no noise or movement back there. Here are a few pics, this was before I installed the tailgate reinforcement kit.

Forgot to add that the shop that installed them said they had no problems balancing them. That was a gripe about the AT3w apparently, some were a pain to balance.

That is a constant issue with AT3 on my Ram.....They have been balanced four times.

Appreciate that! Have you found the weight something that's noticeable? I know of course no one buys a jeep for mpgs but just curious to see what people are noticing.
They are heavy tires, but most A/T's are. I can't say that I really noticed any difference performance wise, But the added weight, plus role resistance will have a negative effect on your fuel economy.

Wow someone who got the exact size i was looking for! 🤣 Appreciate all the insight, and yea I didn't look too much into the relocation bracket/reinforcement but yea i did see that.

Role resistance plays the biggest factor in losing MPGs and I expected a loss going from 33" to 35", but somehow have not lost any in the 7-8k miles I've driven with them. The Jeep does feel a bit more planted, but I haven't noticed any other change. It still gets up to speed and passes like it did before. I didn't clock the Jeep before and don't plan to now (would be funny to take it to a local drag strip), but from the butt test I can't tell a difference in handling or performance.

That is a constant issue with AT3 on my Ram.....They have been balanced four times.
That sucks. I had the AT3 on my Sierra and they lasted 75k miles before I replaced them. Never had to be rebalanced that entire time. I bought them before they blew up in popularity so I wonder if the QA issues showed up after that because they were trying to keep up with demand.

If you do jump up to the 35" AT4w and have the Rubicon rear bumper you will need to get a spare tire relocation bracket, the tire rubs on the bumper. Based on your info it looks like you have a Sahara so I can't speak to fitment on that bumper. I’m a little disappointed that you can’t fit a 35 without the relocation bracket. I was under the impression it could handle a 35”. Maybe because it’s larger than most other 35s?
