@JLWF Dealer Guy I am one of the orders stuck in Marion. I’m in a sticky situation with my 2013 JK 10th anniversary Rubi. I don’t think my tires will last much longer, and I am planning on trading it in or selling it to Carvana when the new one gets here. I know you had mentioned before that you would recommend putting new tires on, but the BFGs on this Jeep are at least $1200. I’m not sure I would recoup that when selling it. But will it really hurt the value with shot tires? What do you recommend?

When I went to different dealerships they were specifically concerned with my tire condition before discussing trade. More than one said tires are what cost them the most when reselling. Mine were in great condition so it did not matter. If I were buying a used Jeep with shot tires I would be taking the cost to replace them off the sellers price point unless it was priced below what it was worth to make up the difference.

Yeah I’m pretty sure I just need to buy new tires. Plus I’m not sure how much longer they’ll be safe to drive on especially with the heat coming on here in AZ. And since I have no idea when the new Jeep will get here! When I started this process 4 months ago I didn’t think I would be waiting so long that tires would be an issue.

Yea, first, I'd ding you at least $1000 for the tires. Second, you are supposed to maintain your vehicle. Third, it's just unsafe to drive with shit tires. Bite the bullet and replace them.

They’re not that bad yet; they still have at least 20-30% tread left. But with no firm date for the new one arriving who knows what they’ll be like when it gets here. This Jeep is my baby and has been very well maintained. I just thought the new one would be in by now and this wouldn’t have been a concern.

Check craigslist and the like for some used take offs that have enough tread to get you by. You may find a great deal and save a good amount.

20-30% is pretty bad. Find some craigslist take offs or some cheap ones from discount tire to hold you over.

You can check out Amazon. I purchased tires $600 less expensive than what the dealer quoted me. The plus side is they are delivered to your house and if you don’t want to do the work yourself, you can schedule service at checkout with an Amazon dealer. I had a great experience doing this.

$1200 is the best price we’ve found and that is online. We have ordered quite a few sets online and had them shipped to us and then had Sam’s Club install them. It’s definitely the way to go.
