nobody seems to like armor all and i must admit, i’ve been a huge fan of 303 however the other day i found an old half used bottle and i figured i’d give it a try on the wiper cowl and it actually looked darker than when i used 303. is this a new formula from back in the day and does it have UV protection? bottle didn’t say anything about UV protection. also, those with experience with this product - how long will it make the plastic look nice (garage kept). thanks for any info

I dont know if they changed thier formula.. but I won't use it.. After getting out of the military and my 6 year stint as a Corrections Officer, I moved back to Michigan and was a Warranty Review Specialist for GM.. we saw countless dash trims and vents and you name it come back flaking and finish coming off.. culprit was both those ait fresheners that hang and stick in the vent.. and also treating with armor all. That's when I stopped using it. Maybe they changed thier formula now because of it but I don't know.

You like that shiny greasy look? Armor All penetrates plastic and actually dries it out. It will cause it to turn grey faster. It’s bad stuff

If anything, it will completely wash-off as soon as it rains.

that was the thing - didn’t look as shiny as i remembered. i actually prefer a low shine which is why i go through so much 303.

While I still have some kicking around in the garage, I try not to use it. 303 is a better product I feel for my needs and it seems to stay on longer that Armor All ever does. While I may experiment from time to time, I do tend to stick with products I know work well for ME!

I have used Armor-All since 1978 on all my vehicles, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and boats. Never had any issues with material or rubber drying out. Comes down to how often you apply it and how long your vehicles sit in the baking sun. Never found anything else I like better. I will admit, it doesn't last a long time on the exterior. Like wax or paint sealant, it has to be reapplied at certain intervals.

Full disclosure here. I work for energizer battery and we own armor all. I can tell you I know several folks at the plant and they do a lot of product testing and development. Since I work in batteries I’m not sure of formulations etc but I personally have used it for decades on my own stuff… even before energizer bought them. There are some formulations specifically for exterior trim as well. apply it regularly and I’ve veneer had any issues.

I use 303 protectant on everything

I have a soft tire brush, I spray it on the washed tires, then I spray and brush the plastic bumpers and running boards, seems to last a couple of weeks.

For the painted body, I use Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic wash, dry using their Wet Wax, 2x a year I apply their ceramic coating.

Tried their tire stuff, it was meh, they also have an interior detailer seems a bit better than the 303, since it appears to repel dust.
