I’m also in TN. I got the cold weather pkg not for the temps, but for back issues. It’s like having a heating pad on long drives.
The passenger seat can also help keep your burger and fries warm in the summer ;).
I do love my LED lights though. Deer. Cows. Kids.
I didn't think of heat for back issues on long drives. So heat is on back too?

It feels to me like it’s on the lower back. Not sure about the upper. The pictures on the switches only shows the rump portion radiating heat, but I know I can feel it a lot higher.
Lower back is where my issues are, and it helps there for sure.

have you looked at the LED lights on the JL? they have that funky fish eye lens. THAT is where your $900 cost comes from.
the way light comes off the diodes when they are energized (LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, if you didnt know) is different from the way light comes off the tungsten filament of a halogen bulb..... hence, the funky lens to direct and focus the light properly. you can't just toss an LED bulb in a housing that wasn't designed for the way the light is emitted and expect it to perform the same. sure, it will be bright, but it wont be the same....light will scatter and be annoying to the guy in front of you and the guy coming at you. the car and lighting companies spent a lot of time and money on those funky housings and lenses for a reason. if they couldve done without them, they wouldve
Thanks for the detailed explanation!

I've not had anyone flash me so, I'm happy about that, and I'm able to see SO MUCH BETTER than my Halogen bulbs.

For me the $900 isn't worth it
if I can see much more clearly with an LED bulb...which I can lol. So it solved the "problem" that I had with the dim Halogen bulbs...but I definitely learned the difference between an LED and Halogen housing :)

And thanks for taking the time to respond in a respectful, nonaggressive manner.

Tai, i sure hope i didnt come off as agressive and i certainly tried to be respectful.
If i wasn't respectful, it sure wasnt my intention.
But i am from NYC, so i can never be positive it just doesnt just happen.
Now, i can't tell if you aren't being sassy right back at me.
I sense that i just got the houston equivalent of the "bless your heart" that my north carolina friends give me. ;-)

Nooo lol I was being serious, wasn't being sarcastic!

You weren't aggressive AT ALL, although you could have been... Lately I've noticed that on some forums if someone asks a legit question, because they have no idea about the subject, some people just go OFF unnecessarily. I appreciate that you didn't do that with me.

  • LED Lighting Group (AD6) - $797 / $895 (invoice/msrp)
So depending on how you shopped your vehicle, it's not that bad. I'm at 6% under invoice which means in theory, this option cost would be 797-47.82=749.18. So for me, $750 for Headlights, Running Lights, Fog lights, Halo's, and Taillights (which look amazing BTW) seems like a steal. This is coming from somebody who has seen JW's, Factory JK led, and every "american" *cough* chinese brand known to mankind. I currently run a cheap set on my JK because I have some Baja Design aux lights that put most everything else light wise to shame so there was no need to shell out more.I really just wanted the switchback halo's.

JW speaker Headlights are around 299+ each so lets say $500 if you shop around, fogs around 300+ and taillights are also around $300. I am sure some companies would do a package deal for lets say $800-$1000. I don't think they look as good, perform as well, nor do they come with a factory warranty. If there is any package on the jeep I would say is not a rip-off, I think it's this one. Hell, they could have asked 1200 for the kit, and I probably would have done it anyways. I just wish the halo's were switchbacks but I'll have to do that myself down the line. If I'm dropping over 30k, better yet 40 or 50+ on a new car, I'm not settling for halogens... easy call in my book. I drive at night a ton, and built many custom HID projectors for motorcycles and jeeps back when they were the new "hot" thing. I think this new setup is spot on and I like to think I'm well educated on the topic. They may not be for everybody but regret is one hell of an expensive drug.

lol it's funny you mention that price...because when I asked the dealer how much it would cost to get LED headlights on my Sport, he quoted $1200; also said I wouldn't be able to get them until July 2019. So yeah...I'd say your estimation is spot on!

Hi Everyone, I can’t thank you all enough for all your info and opinions. What a great board!

So after reading through the posts and thinking over the weekend I ordered my 2 door granite crystal Rubi, I decided to just get both the LED and cold weather options (along with alpine, and hardtop) because you only live once and my last new jeep was 20 years ago. I did drop the headliner when I saw what it actually was and how it’s available as aftermarket.

Now I wait. Craig from koons said production of the 19’s doesn’t start until mid November and delivery will likely be December.

Congrats. Did you order a 2018 or 2019?

Craig has been a pleasure to deal with so far. I'm stacked with work for the next week or two but mine is sitting on their lot and I am anxiously awaiting my trip to go get it! If your financing the jeep, it makes splurging a little easier haha.
