Hey all,

I recently bought the ARB Single Compressor - Portable version. (In hindsight, I regret not getting the dual mountable instead, but here we are)

I used it once so far to fill from 30 to 37 PSI on all 4 tires. (35's)

During this time, the compressor got really hot. Dangerously hot, burn skin easily kind of hot. I know these things run hot, and I know the duty cycle is 50% on the single for 30 mins, at 72 ambient temp.

I'm in AZ, and it's always hot here except for 2 days of the year.

So I decided I wanted to add a fan to this portable case to help cool things down a bit.

I found a template online and make the drill holes on the side of the case.
I bought a 120mm DC fan
Attached it all up, then spliced the wires into the main input line.

This way the fan is always running, even if the compressor is not running.

I don't know how much it will help, but it sure can't hurt and takes up hardly any room. All cables still fit without issue.

I had an issue yesterday where I had my air hose blow out, assuming from the heat. Did this work? I’m trying to figure out a work around as well.

For my Airdown and Airups, I use the ARB Twin setup. All air compressor get hot. I likely doubt that there is a compressor that won't get hot, especially a good quality one.

My air compressor is in a carrying case so I don't need to worry about it getting hot.

I air down to 10 PSI with my 35s and air up to 35 PSI in about 8 minutes.

I have power points that are external to the vehicle on the front bumper that are connected directly to my secondary battery that also powers my winch, refrigerator and a couple of other power accessories and I have a 500 amp battery cut-off disconnect switch to power down the winch and the external, powerpoints.

The twin compressor requires the ability to draw about 80 amps in order to rapid inflated my 35 inch tires.
