I'm still assuming that replacing the upstream (wide band) O2 sensor was what fixed the problem child 2020 I was dealing with. No news is good news.

I just read over the Y40 recall notice that Chrysler published on their dealership page in their service library for their techs. They do list a few codes there that the PCM flash addresses, but the P1128 code is not one of those codes. They do say however that the flash also addresses certain emissions related issues that is required by the gov. So only engineering knows that for sure... and they are very, very, very tight lipped.

I said from the get-go while diagnosing my P1128 that this issue was software related and it would eventually be fixed with a flash (software update). Only time will tell but, looks like that may likely be the case. Thanks for the update here in regard to y'all getting the recall notice. Was interesting seeing on that same recall, there's four different vehicle groups this software update addresses. About half of those are hybrids too. Weird.
yea, that upstream o2 they swapped on mine has kept it away also as i said. thanks for looking into the notice!

You bet. Just sucked dealing with mine because the O2 data appeared totally in spec with mine. I talked with several dealership techs that started off diaging a P1128 by replacing the upstream O2 first, and that didn't fix theirs. But then, the way the O2 data is shown live in the dealership scan tools (WiTech) the lovely engineering dept decided to change that all up. Probably most in part to these having a wide band O2 sensor now, not the older type. Hopefully they change that so the live data is easier to look at and translate.

Found this thread by searching the p1128 code.

My 2.0t got the issue today. ThenCEL is up right after ignition. 30k miles on the 2021 model.
I replaced the upstream O2 sensor at the top rear of the engine. Doing so served to extinguish the P1128-linked CEL in my Jeep. Just an FYI.

I’m out of 3 year. Is this covered by 5year warranty?
good question, I'd have thought powertrain because its emissions based, but Google says bumper to bumper. best to call them.
