I've seen lots of the 30-day-wait issue posted but I couldn't find this after a bit of searching:

I joined TreadLightly Apr 15 2021.
Finally applied for my affiliate code in Jan 2022--code said it good til end of 2022.
Ordered my JL Sahara Feb 11, 2022--paid $1000 down to guarantee my price, which was 1% below invoice (I know others do better here but I was fine with it)
Took delivery July 14, 2022 with the 1% below invoice price

Dealership just emailed me a couple days ago (Sept 20) to tell me they are finalizing my deal with Stellantis and noticed my TreadLightly letter (my membership, not the affiliate code) is expired and can I give them a copy of my new letter--which I don't have as I never renewed my membership.

That's as far as the communication has gone. Dealer hasn't said anything more, I'm just wondering where this may be going with them?

Anyone else run into this? If so, anything of consequence happen?

If the code is good the code should be good. Dealership never looked at or verified my Tread Lightly membership, I just gave them the code when ordering.

If you already took delivery and ownership then you've already paid for the Jeep at your agreed upon price. If 2 months later the dealer is having a fight with Stellantis about honoring the discount that's between those two parties. I wouldn't waste the time of day responding to them.

Yeah, that’s how I was looking at it, too. And, even if the affiliate code process falls through for them I have to believe they still made money from my sale—just not as much as they could have…

Per the control number instructions, they require proof of affiliation. Not being active would be like using your company affiliate control number after you quit.

2.
Take your unique Control Number to any participating U.S. Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep ®
, Ram dealership orFIAT ® Studio, along with proof of company/organization affiliation (i.e. such as your company photo IDbadge, current and original pay stub, copy of pension check, W-2 form, marriage license or similardocumentation) and receive up to 1% below factory invoice
when you purchase or lease a new U.S.Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep ® , Ram or FIAT® vehicle.

I believe if you reactivate TreadLightly, your origination date stays the same.

That’s helpful to know. I feel like they could have figured this out during the 5 months I waited for the Jeep or the 4 hrs it took to take delivery in July…

Just a guess, but maybe the dealer reimbursement processes quarterly, and they're assembling their 3rd quarter paperwork and saw it.

I rejoined in 2019 from my original membership in 2014, and I had no 30 day wait. I believe your affiliation starts from your original join date once you pay again. Worst case, you're out $100, which goes to a good cause anyway. But the deal is done, so I'm not sure what recourse the dealer has. Maybe bad future service, but odds are you're gonna get that anyway. ?

The membership letter does have an expiration date on it. The dealer should have caught that when you picked up your Jeep.

Since I don’t need more affiliate codes, would I need to renew for another $100 membership?

Nope, I don't think you would unless the dealership could force you into it somehow. I don't see that happening. They might try to pressure you into something, but it's their screwup since they didn't address the expiration date at delivery. I wouldn't worry about it.

To be eligible, you’d need to be at the $100 level.

Not sure the dealer would have recourse, but the program rules do state violations will be suspended from the program, so you may not be able to get another in the future.

That, and I’m sure rampant abuse could get tread lightly removed from the program.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll just wait and see what the dealership does, if anything.

Just realized it’s just an email. Right click spam?
