If you think the pentastar is noisy, the 2.0l will redefine what real noise is like.
The 2.0T engine sounds mechanically busy after a cold start, that much is true. When fully warmed up and idling, though, it's quiet. In that regard, it's one of the quietest engines I've owned.

My wife's Honda also has a GDI turbocharged engine. It too makes sounds unique to its own cold starts. To be fair, though, the Jeep's Hurricane engine is a bit noisier in that particular metric. Both settle down nicely after they reach regular operating temperature.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
To be honest I really don't know what to believe. I've had trouble even thinking straight for the past few years. Ever since I was diagnosed with cancer and internal bleeding I developed an extreme case of bad paranoia and stress. My hot water tank then blew up flooding my kitchen and my roof got damaged from leaks, I kind of look at my jeep as the last good thing I own and when it acts up it sends me over the edge.
Hopefully things in your life will take a better turn, it's never easy when you've been dealt bad hands time after time. Hang in there and hope things work out better for you soon.

The steering boxes are made in China. That's my biggest gripe.

I did not really care for my Pentastar. It sounded good when you got into it, but it was really rough, especially with the auto start stop. I just got my 23 4xe and would totally go with that or a normal Wrangler with the 2.0T just because it is WAY smoother and I feel like it has way more pep than the V6.

YES!! I have nothing but the utmost respect for my elders, and have worked in several different fields. What is the one common thread in every place I've worked according to the old timers??? They used to drink beer at work, no one made a big deal out of it, they loved their job and it used to be FUN.
I proposed a "pilot program" at one job where we could drink at work one time...lead balloon. Lmao
Early in my career, I worked for about a decade as a machinist. I worked in several major aerospace companies in southern California and many small shops for short stints. One shop, the foreman would walk by each bench at 9am and set 2 Buds on the bench, the fridge was constantly stocked to the hilt with Bud. I only lasted a month or two there. I seemed to have a hangover many mornings and couldn't stand drinking beer that early.

…My main concern right now is why my oil pressure is at 26 psi when others report 29 psi. If someone came on here and said they see the same thing on their dash after driving home when the engine is hot then I would drop this whole thing and move on.
I took notice of my oil pressure last night just for this thread.

Mine constantly idled between 30 psi & 31 psi and stayed this way as long as I kept rpm below 3500. When the Jeep shifted thru gears hitting above 2500rpm (IIRC) it went beyond 31psi to 40’s and 50’s then to high 70’s when I’d go beyond 3500rpm or when I “punched it”.

As soon as it shifted and dropped below 3500rpm, it was back at 30-31psi

I have the 3.6L (my engine is a couple hundred miles old).

I wish I would’ve taken notice of my oil pressure when I was having engine problems! The real-time data could have been more helpful with your research and an interesting comparison.

Thank you, I just want to know if other people experience the same thing. And no it wasn't fair for me to say that Mexico makes crap, just been my experience with other stuff made from Mexico and China have not been the best quality, I apologize for that. Stress makes me rage.
Slightly off-topic:

If you’re dealing with massive stress, try Yoga. I’m not being sarcastic or poking fun at you.

See if you can look into it. Just the breathing aspects of it have kept me calm through many major emotionally intense and physically painful situations. The breathing will regulate everything else and get you togetha.

If yoga aint your speed, get your exercise routine in and often. Exercise releases stress considerably. .

I understand, but I wouldn't start another 'hate the PentaStar' thread. these are HIGHLY regarded and tested motors. They've been on the top ten motors of all time several times this decade with automotive world/wards/others and they've produced 10M of them.

No one can say the PentaStar is a 'bad' motor.

If you don't like how it sounds in a sparsely insulated vehicle like a Jeep Wrangler then it is what it is.

Like others have said these vehicles don't have massive sound deadening etc so it can be offsetting.
Half these old turds (myself included) can't even get out of bed without making sound effects. But we expect no mechanical noise from a molded pile of metal that sits out in the cold all night?......

I think we may be catching each other's echos!

It's amazing in 44 and still alive. Oil field rig up/rig down crew. Climbing telephone poles and a 42' fall/pole burn, high school and college football days..... KBR transportation in the Middle East. I make some noise until I get warmed up too. I guess me and old 3.6 are 2 peas in a pod.

Lolololl it begins in the 40’s dude!

I’m 42 and after my motorcycle slide injuries my stuff be aching in the morning! Everything is back “together” but bruhhhh after an intense cardio or weight routine, I be “ooing and owing” in the mornings LOL!!! Even after my stretches directly after my workouts, my stuff still feel like it hasn’t moved in 30yrs ☠

That’s why your comment tapped me on the shoulder! ???

Sometimes this forum is like looking up health issues on the internet, before you know it you are convinced you have some obscure deadly disease, I thought my 3.6 was relatively quiet, now I am convinced it will blow up tomorrow, lol
