Not a Fan of Dave's (Smith) in Kellogg ! On my way home from Montana (Sept. 5th) I stopped in and I practically had to "corral" a salesperson . . . NOBODY approached me out in the huge over-full lots or inside the Maze of Rooms - it's like trying to get around in one of those hedge mazes - "Jack Nicholson stuff" ! Last time I was at DD's was back in 2002 when I was going in the opposite direction - Chicago, to my last duty station before retirement (Navy). Whole different scene - no comparison - much smaller ! If it weren't for DD, Kellogg would be a ghost town, then or now ! And yup they were stingy then and stingy in Sept. 2018 ! Did a build on a 2019 RAM 1500, just like I did months ago at one of my local dealers (Lithia) and they were a bit pricier and wouldn't budge - That was where I sort of came to the decision process to where I am now - wanting a JL (2019 version with most likely the 2.0 ?). So much more I can do with the JL vs. the Big Horn Quad . . . and it will fit much better in my smaller Apartment Complex garage. It weighs over 500 pounds less too with only 10 hp less with the 3.6 & the same (basically) 8 speed - so a LOT peppier ! Which is why I think the 2.0 should work just fine (for my uses) ! Just trying to convince myself about the mpg vs. gas prices scenarios !
Check out Dennis Dillon in Caldwell, I got $6,200 off MSRP.
Also the Torque is way more on the 2.0L than the V6.
Also this Dyno chart shows the Turbo actually makes more peak Horsepower too.
The Turbo is blue, V6 red.

Hi FUHL - Oh I have . . . I got so much STUFF book-marked about the JL and Dealers - including DD - and now that I've deleted all that stuff about the RAM 1500 I WAS considering, heck now I have even MORE room to cram on my computer !
 . . . ! If I had a printer (used to) I could download a 300 page pamphlet, easy . . . :) !
Did not have that chart so thanks . . . nice learning about the peak hp too ! Torque is 269 vs 295, not huge but significant and with eTorque, off the line (when the ESS happens) the added torque makes it feel Very Peppy - so the Videographers tout - even at TFL !
SO, you placed an order ? Were you able to actually "negotiate" a price or did they "tell You" what the price would be - like they say online - "we do NOT negotiate" !? Gotta watch out for the "slight of hand" FEES and other such b.s. they've tried on others here, when it comes time to pick it up & sign the paperwork - if "IT" wasn't on the original contract you & the sales manager signed off on; refuse the uptick crap for the "sticker b's." ! IF I go with them, rather than Dishpan or Lithia (local Spokane area) I will be more alert for such tactics . . . though Lithia & Dishman are "no angels" either !   . . . :like: .

A good friend of mine here in California bought from Dave Smith. He has nothing but good things to say about them.

I purchased at DD - there was no negotiating, the price was set. and at the time (04/18) it was a LOT lower than anybody else. They are a volume dealer so the more they sell the more money they make from FCA. They used to toss in freebies like extra warranty but they stopped doing this earlier this year. I had a great purchasing experience at DD they didn't try to sneak in any extra fees or any b.s. Like you said be on guard and tell them straight up if its not on the original contract you aren't taking delivery..

295 rated Torque is at the crank. 264 at the wheels, very impressive. V6 rated torque is 260, only 199 at the wheels.

All dealerships are.... Well you get it. They are all trying to make money.

Yup, but I certainly do appreciate you acknowledging that . . . I ain't no "expert" or even close . . . just do a lot of searching about the internet for what I can learn ! Always good to stay at least 1 step ahead of that "sales-clown" !

I purchased my JLUS in Sept, I tried to work with DSM however $4K was all I could get them to budge. I ended up buying from Rairdon Jeep in Kirkand, Wa. and received $6800 off MSRP.

Did something recently changed with Dave Smith? I'm looking at a custom order, cash payment and they were offering me $500 below invoice. Hard pass from me.

Ahh - I thought I had heard something about that. I guess I figured they'd still be competitive. The price they were trying to have me sign was bad by pretty much any reasonable measure. Everything I'd heard about them was so great - a no haggle price that was usually 5% below invoice - unbeatable by anyone. Call, get a quote, fly in, take their courtesy shuttle and in 30 minutes, you're out the door. No fuss, no muss. They were trying to tell me invoice pricing is what they pay, so I should be really excited to get $500 under that. Telling me I had to sign a contract at invoice pricing and only then would they look at possible incentives to bring that price down. Uhhhh, naw, I'm good.

The good news, I use Costco pricing on a lark, just to get an easy price for comparison. They just forwarded me to a local dealer (the nearest one to me, in fact). Figuring their pricing would be terrible, I directly asked for their out-the-door pricing for my configuration via email (gal was super friendly and helpful) and was persistent about just wanting the price before I committed to coming in. Came in about $2,500 under invoice (about 5%). Going in tomorrow to sign, unless they pull something sketchy.

I was really surprised too.... Friends and coworkers had been telling me how much they saved going to Dave Smith, smooth purchase, etc. My experience at Dave Smith was great; the salesman was awesome to work with, but Dennis Dillon gave me a much better deal (and an awesome smooth purchase) so I went with them.

I'm in Seattle and Dillon, although I keep hearing great things - is just a bit too far from me for saving a few bucks (especially for a January delivery). I've heard offers as crazy as 12% below invoice (I suspect for inventory + financed). I'm finding less wiggle-room with custom ordered, cash payment, no trade-in. I'm just not a juicy target, I guess.

Glad to hear Dillon is still doing well.

Dingus, I used the Costco program and only got $275.00 under dealer invoice on my ordered Wrangler JL Sport S.. Did they pull a fast one on me? They showed me a page that looked official with the various 2019 jeep vehicles and next to Wrangler it showed 275.00. 2500.00 is a whole lot better than 275. I bought in Oregon, where did you buy?

I flew on Horizon Air from Seattle to Dennis Dillon in Boise for $100 and drove my jeep home. Mine was a custom order and I used my credit union for financing. - loving this jeep! Even though its a fast open-road driving it is still a very long drive back to Seattle....it would have taken longer had I not been able to resist the urge to hit some 4x4 trails on the way home :). I've heard some dealers in Seattle area have come down in price lately.. That's awesome that you got a good deal from Costco. I have a friend who saved a bunch of $$ when he bought his pickup truck using Costco.
